The father of one of my friends, who was an engine mechanic in RNoAF quite a bit ago told me that he had been witnessing a line of Spits parked outside being drained of all liquids, stripped of some parts, then a truck came with a few guys with blowtorches and they just cut the engine carriers right off,so the Merlins just plunged into the tarmac… The image in my mind thinking of it is horrifying! 😮
Mackerel…. I reckon you have been sniffing the etch-prime again!
If so,he’s not the only one. There’s a reflection there with a fleeting image vaguely resembling a Spit… 🙂
There is a 1/24th scale Mosquito kit on the market, have a look here:

Check out the big Vulcan to on the page. Most scary is the 1/24th Lancaster, its huge.
Ollie,
Thanks for that. Now I just found my Christmas present.. 😀
So Revell will bring out a Mosquito soon?
The did a completely new Lancaster which will be out now, perhaps they will do a Stirling as well,Cees
Fingers crossed for 1/24 scale.. 😀 (wishful thinking…but a bigger one than the 1/48-scale I have would be nice…:) )
Couldn’t be in better hands, in my opinion. What a stable that would be – 3xBf109G, Bf108, Me262…. 😀
Imagine the fly-by they could do… then you would really see a thing or two you haven’t seen before.. 😀
A little late,but… Happy Birthday Bruce. 🙂
Huge? You could say that

They also do a Mossie in that scale
A must-have. Where’s my credit card?? 😀
Throw them in jail and let them rot there till they die:diablo: 😡 But if forgion throw them out the country.
I have a better preposition: You cannot throw them out of the country,as most will without doubt be born British. And,as previously said,Australia just doesn’t work anymore. But, why make prisons where they are now,i.e.centralized? Why not just find some small islands (preferably with miserable weather conditions :diablo: ) and make new Alcatraz’es…with good-old proper manual labour (after all it’s called punishment, not “hotel”). And make sure each “petty theft” they happen to do just add up…I.e. you steal a car,you get 6 months there. You steal (organized) 50 cars, you get 300 months off at a location NOT to your liking… As soon as word comes out of “that northern hell you get to” the fear factor comes into play.:diablo:
She wasn’t taking off, just look at the video… The old girl LEAPED into the air, eager to be where she wants to be! :D:D:D:D
I think the Mossie still exists… 🙂 ..I have it somewhere that she’s preserved at RAF Museum Cosford…
His resemblance to Herr Stauffenberg is actually quite remarkable…especially with that somber look. 🙂 …I guess a must-see.
Got sunburned from the good weather Friday Sat Sun and blisters on me feet thru pushing Mustangs around . Will add photos as I get over the jet lag 😉
this was taken Sunday Afternoon around 1pm
Is that the Scandinavian Historic Flight’s “Old Crow” or someone else’s? 🙂
a sub bottom profiller that can look through 40 meters of silt
Interesting. Does this bit of kit tell you how far into the silt the target may be,too..? 🙂 And,does it handle sand/mud banks, too? There’s possibly a Halifax up here… almost with certainty silt covered,as the river feeding the lake in mention usually deposits quite a bit of material during the spring thaw… (although, from where it’s said to be it might be far enough away from the main depository of silt/sand/mud to only be lightly covered..)
Who cares about the number? 😀 Just LISTEN…! Close your eyes and you’re suddenly camping at the cliffs of Dover in ’44 with the boys going out… :diablo:
Will a Hurrican do, taken by mi lad a couple of years back:D
Yet another awesome photo… 🙂 …but a FW or ME a little out in the distance coming in head on would make us get a view some had,but not all lived to tell about it…
