To all western and eastern friends, please stop discussing how many aircrafts where shoot down by Serbian PVO. Facts are there are only two confirmed, one F-117 and one F-16 .Yes there where many damaged aircrafts, and maybe some even crashed over friendly territory, but NATO forces are not publishing those numbers so under those circumstances it is better to keep quiet. Anyway, Serbian military knew that they do not have chance in direct confrontation with NATO and goal was to minimise losses and preserve as much of combat power as possible and that goal was achieved. Today, (except the Air Force), SiCG military is still credible force in the region and 10 – 15 years down the road will be, once again mot powerful force in the region.
Anyway lets not forget, SiCG and NATO are coming closer and closer to the point that SiCG will, eventually , become member of NATO equipped with NATO compatible equipment and in that light one must view that conflict. That conflict was in true sense continuation of politics trough different means. NATO did not bombed country to destroy it but only to remove Milosevic from power and that happened in the end. Majority of the population does not have any hard feelings toward west , and on the contrary they see them as friends ( even military thinks that way , well not all of them but most of them )
