From what I can recall (without checking the EXIF data) I started on 100ASA upto the Hurricane, by which time I was up to 400ASA. For the “Edwardians” I had to go all the way up to 1600ASA.
I kind of agree with the sentiments expressed by the “Japanese Photographer”. Anyroadup, here’s some more …..
(images that is, not Japanese photographers! π )

Just a few more from what can only be described as a “Magical Place” …..

…. and then the light started to go!

I think it was actually dark by now ….

Should appear in already existing thread ….
Thanks Mike!
Comments appreciated!
I went to Old Warden last night, so I’ll be posting later if you can bear the suspense!

Ta-Dah! π
Obviously either I’ve done something wrong, or it doesn’t work with flickr.
– Off to open photobucket account, see you shortly!
Oh dear oh dear – what a thread! Donβt some people take themselves ever so seriously, just a weenie bit?
Albert, just ignore them & they’ll go away & argue with themselves somewhere else!
And as far as the “Turkish Delight” image is concerned, it’s actually quite obvious! The water tower is currently experiencing subsidence & the actual horizon cannot be seen due to the leaves on the trees; both of which could be attributed to the recent inclement weather & rainfall figures imho! π
It was sunday, and if I could find my leads I would play my video soundtrack back to you so you could equally cringe, I would have thought that the commentary was written for both days so you must have had either serious earache or a badly extended coughing and sneezing fit, it would appear that no one else was seriously listening to what exactly was being said.
I was there on the Saturday with a group of friends & can’t have been the only one that heard it as there were quite a few raised eyebrows between us all. π
I do realise that these are pretty much all combat aeroplanes & as such they are designed with such things in mind & I’d agree with Pete Truman ….
“I know that most of the a/c we all come to see and love are designed to be killing machines, the Lancaster has probably more notches on it’s wings than most, but to make a silly commentary about an on going conflict thats very contraversial, costing lives on both sides, and whether you support it or not, was not very tactful to say the least.”
There’ll NEVER be a jet performing at Duxford …….
D’oh!
Seriously though, perhaps a little “Simpsonβs”?
The female commentator could’ve been Lisa Simpson, with the crew of the F15 being Kennedy (wonder if he was having a sly cigarette out of the window?!?) and the back seat “Whizzo” being (by the sound of it) one Captain Star Wars!
Colonials, don’t you just love ’em!
(that should stir it up a bit! – perhaps I should get my coat)

Update: π
Ed just buzzed Duxford and is getting ready to land!

Don’t worry Pete, I kind of agree with you. In years gone by we’d have had a full list of participants & the pages of this hallowed forum would’ve been rife with comment, speculation & excited “chatter” about the forthcoming event.
This year does seem a little, well, different; I don’t know if it’s because of a collective “holding of breath” as regards “Operation Bolero II” or what, but there is something different.
Can’t quite put me finger on it. Any road up I’ll be there Saturday or Sunday, weather depending (that’s as to which day I do go)
ttfn
Without delving into aviation met sites (or rather, purely to avoid it) I use weatheronline
Thanks Mike!
I didn’t know this existed so had a look. Brilliant site! π

Just can’t make my mind up whether to go on the Saturday or the Sunday now.
Cheers!
BBMF Lancaster transiting across Hoddesdon (Croydon – Old Warden)
She looked gorgeous with the bright sunlight glinting on her new paint!
