Interesting article in this weeks Amateur Photographer re: the differences between pixel counts, sensor sizes & pixel density on the sensor – worth a read!

Just to chuck in my tuppence worth ….

Why should you feel that you have to buy expensive NEW kit?
I’ve recently discovered the wonders of ebay, a friend of mine picked up a Canon D300 in “as good as new” condition for circa Β£250! Okay not the most pixel laden piece of kit, but it does the job very nicely!

For my part I’ve picked up a nice SIGMA AF 28-105 mm f3.8-5.6 UC-III for Β£67 & a battery grip for my D300 for Β£70!

The main thing is that you don’t need to have the latest equipment to take blindingly good shots! It is very easy to get sucked in by the appeal of the latest kit, I often find myself staring longingly at the adverts in AP etc.!

The best one was: “If you shake my hand then you’ll be shaking the hand that has shaken the hand of Orville Wright”

    I did, so I have – haven’t I?

I had a couple of “Viking” CF cards from 7Dayshop; I have to say that I wasn’t impressed – one kept losing images & the other locked up completely. 😑

Now I tend to stick with Kingston, never had a problem with them (famous last words!) . The best place that I’ve found to obtain these is from Digital Depot in Stevenage Old Town

    Cheers!

Just the sort of thing the beeb should be doing?
I think that they’ve been getting better recentlywith a couple of series, namely The New Dr. Who & “Life on Mars”

Well done beeb! – Now will someone just explain why, when the beeb can do this sort of prog we have to put up with the crap they put out on a Saturday night?

Do you recycle by choice or is it mandatory ?

    Hi Anna,

Why wouldn’t anyone want to recycle – strange question?

    – However I find that there is an interesting “sub plot” to this & that goes something like the following ….

Why is it down to us the people to recycle all the waste that “big business” churns out (supermarket packaging etc) for free when really it should be down to the producer? – just a thought …..

    Hi Lee,

It seems that you have a live feed of air movements on your top screen (bottom image) – where do you get this from (link?)?

    Cheers!
