Many thanks indeed for your kind help 😀
I’ve decided to resurrect my Minolta Dynax 500si & Sigma 100-300mm lens. Ordered a new rechargeable battery & charger for it (it uses 2CR5Ms).
I’ll get some 35mm film, which I’ll get processed to CD, rather than printed, to see how it comes out.
Is there any preference with regards film/iso that I should try that works well when processed like this, and for this type of photograph? A good processing company? Can I specify RAW or will I only get jpegs?
I’ve also used the Minolta range and after experiencing problems with my Dynax 9 have gone digital. Still having my Minolta’s led me to buy a Sony Alpha so that I could use the same lens. Although some of the Sigma lens don’t fit, I have to say that I’m most impressed with the Alpha. If you shop around you can purchase the Alpha for less than £500.
What’s the large scope in the middle? Map display?
Correct!
Fantastic pictures TEEJ, thanks for posting !
A slightly different perspective;

Anyone got any historical images to share 😉
Maybe we can turn this thread into a picture tribute to the RAF Jaguar? So anyone with old pictures of the Jaguar in RAF service, please post a few!
Thanks guys!
contrailjj I’d tend to agree with you but how and why did it end up in Luena?
Has a winged feline character on the tail …. similar to Air India 😀
Well spotted that man 😀 ! Air Zaire……..anyone?
Could be an F-27, but a wrinkled one. Mpacha, anything to go by? Location, time, stuff like that?
Wreckage seen at Luena, Angola around 1995. No other details I’m afraid.
Not sure, but the Vampire should be up there as well!?
Some more from EDI, taken on Sunday. Just “happy snaps” really as I was busy with other things at the time!

to my knowledge, these three SF.260Ws for Comores, D6-ECD, D6-ECE and D6-ECF, were never delivered to Comores.
They remained in storage from 1977 till 1984 at Vergiate (Italy) and Gosselies (Belgium).
In 1983/84 the aircraft went back to the factory for ‘overhaul’ and prepared for re-sale in the US.
OO-XDE (ex. D6-ECE) crashed in December 1984 in France during its ferry flight from Vergiate to Gosselies.
D6-ECD was sold as N24FD, crashed 21 Feb 1990 in California
D6-ECF was sold as N28FD, still airworthyHendrik
I don’t have the details at hand, but it is believed that the Comores was used as a front for Rhodesian sanctions busting and that five never made it on board the ship delivering them.
Thanks Sens,
My info on the 9k-50 is just simply “buried” 😀 , if I’m able to find it again, I’ll post it!
There was no real IAI Nammer, just a “project” with the F-404 in mind at first.
In JANE’S 92/93 p 141 there is a drawing and data of a “Nammer” with ATAR 9K-50. So we can make-up our minds, which Mirage customers needs were fullfilled really.
By the way, the last Kfir was assembled in 1983 and the last Kfir retired from service in July 1995.
Thanks for the correction, but the Israeli’s definitely fitted and tested the 9K-50, so on what aircraft? Not sure what you are implying with the dates ?
Sens,
I can’t remember exactly but it was around 1991 when five ATAR 9K-50’s were delivered to Israel and it was tested on the Nammer.
I would be grateful if someone could refresh my memory on this !
wasn’t a Kfir was it…?
Kfir never had retractable foreplanes??
The Milan(Kite) S(Suisse) was developed together with the Swiss Federal Aircraft Factory to meet a Swiss requirement which was won by the Northrop F-5E.
Three aircraft were produced. The first was made from a Mirage 5J and tests were conducted during 1968-69.
The second which I think “slipperysam” is talking about was made from Mirage IIIR No.344. This first flew in May 1969.
The last was made from Mirage IIIE No. 589 and had the more powerful 09K50 engine. It first flew in May 1970 and had a 12% reduction in landing speed.
