Damn….. now that’s desktop wallpaper material. Where did that come from and is there more?
As already stated, photo’s from British Aerospace.
UNITA´s flag is completely diferent. It´s Angolan AF plane with South African Executive Outcomes mercenaries. There are more photos of Angolan Pc-7 in the article about this company in World Air Power Journal from 1996 or 97.
You are quite correct! Definitely Angolan AF, UNITA never had such aircraft. The guy on the left is Pine Pienaar who shot down an Angolan Mi-25 on 27/09/85, whilst flying an Impala MkII.
No it’s within a military base that we the tax payer fund
Sense at last, thank you David! In which I might add the Army was doing the owner a favour. Thus, a bit rich not allowing the guys at the base to take a piccie!? See the light yet Damien?
Yes indeed everyone is entitled, but there is no need to get angry about it. It’s just a fact of life. Have you spoken to the owner?
Thats your opinion……..
HP57……….That has nothing to do with it. Just because I own a car, doesn’t mean that I have a right to ban anybody taking photographs of it on a public road?
Can we get back to the thread now? 😡
Unfortunately not fabe. Not sure if the MiG’s ever reached that stage. Never saw them and the last I heard they were stored at Grootfontein. That however, was several years ago! I will post here, if I find anything. (Now that I know how……….thanks to baphomet 😀 )
No that is not what I said.
However surely everybody is entitled to do what they want with their property??
When did I say that he wasn’t? Doesn’t mean to say that I have to be happy with his decision? Surely everyone is entitled to his/her opinion?
Picture was taken at Rundu.
Interesting pic, but why the angry face, surely it’s up to the owner to decide whether he wants pictures or not?
Just strikes me as being a rather selfish attitude which is unfitting of the general aviation community. Also you must be rather stupid if you think that you can ban an entire airfield from taking photographs? Maybe if he lost a wheel on take-off, we should leave him be, since it is none of our business?
Quick to ask ATC or refuellers etc. for favours and then………
Yak if that is how you operate then good luck to you…….
Namibian Hind

What a mission that was??
During my absence I have collected a few things from Mali, but unfortunately image attachment is suspended, so I have a load of pictures waiting to be uploaded.
I also have loads waiting, I bet once it is fixed we’ll all crash the system whilst trying to post 😀 :diablo: 😀
I also have some good pictures but will have to wait until we can post attachments the “normal” way! Is this ever likely to happen ?
I have not got much more information for you. N-249 became 716 in the Jordanian AF and N283 (last build Fokker aircraft) became 801. All Jordanian Hunters were presented to Oman (some Rhodesians went up and flew them) and 801 is now derelict on the threshold of RW08 at Seeb in Muscat. Hope that helps.
Hello All,
Having seen the current issue of Flypast, with the Hunter preserved on a stick in Harare, I wonder if anyone knows the fates of the 15 or so Hunters, and several Canberras that were offered for sale in either 2002 or 2003 ?
I think they were offered for sale by tender, and might have appeared in Flight
International. But cannot remember.Cheers
Tim
Last I heard they couldn’t sell them because they were asking too much?
TJ, which Spitfire would that be then?
