Just a thought but a civil registration can only be used once and cannot be transferred
Lovely pictures, thank you. I especially like the Meteor pictures, still such a beautiful aircraft.

How wonderful to see the old girl back in the air. I used to work on her when she was on 899 Squadron RN,,,,the nostalgia brings tears to my eyes.
Thanks CS for maintaining this thread

All this nonsense from armchair critics,,,,,she has been painted and looks lovely. Never miond the scheme or the masking tape used. A big thank you to the crew that are looking after her,,,,,,she’s looking bonnie.
Well done.

Flaming start
That’s usually caused by having the LP c**k open , with boost pumps running, too long before opening the HP c**k.
But of course, you knew that??

They are not nicknamed : the Campaign Against Aviation for nothing.

Sea Vixen Coal Hole
I was a Watch Chief on 899 Squadron on board HMS Eagle, in the late 60s. I was flown from the ship into Luqa (Malta), the Observers on the squadron used to say that being fired off the catapult was the next best thing to sex. After my experience, I had to agree with them. Queen of the skies in her day!!! I flew in XN 655, for those interested.:)

I think you’ll find that PK now works for Drilling Systems at Bournemouth. They are now the owners of Sea Vixen XP 924.
Their number is 01202 282 255, or was until I published this !! Sorry DS.

How very sad, she didn’t look too clever the last time I saw her.
Thank you all for your answers, links etc. This is a very busy and efficient forum.

Sea Vixen
Thanks Uzzy, glad to see that she is still around. She looks so much better with Drop Tanks.
I last worked on her 40 years ago on HMS Eagle but she still makes me feel a wave of nostalgia. Wish I had enough money to keep her going.
Thanks again, much obliged.

Yeovilton 2010
Thanks for posting those excellent pictures. I especially like the focus on older, static aircraft. I was at Yeovilton in the heyday of the Sea Vixen, 1966 to 1972, on 766 & 899. Pity that XP924 Sea Vixen didn’t make it for a flying display.

Beautiful shots of the Vixens…..and all the others too, of course.
Thank you for sharing them.
Kemble
Anybody know if the Sea Vixen XP 924 was at Kemble? If so, any pictures please?
