Great stuff DJ, I see you got a Ryanair with lots of spray going off of the Short runway. That’s a cracker.
Fred.
Thanks Fred, a fairly unusual event as you know.
Very nice Scotty, dunno where you get the stamina !
Please tell me that AN-225 wasn’t there on the day you posted this thread?
I would of soo much liked to go visit it! I’m devastated.
It was the end of October IIRC.
Some very nice pics there Stuart and good directions. And additionally here’s the website (with directions/arial views etc) of local photographer Luis Rosa who’s pics you may have seen on the TV’s in the terminal while waiting for your flight home –
Very nice Tony, I’m a big fan of trying something different myself and it’s worked well for you here, just because it’s dark and dull doesn’t mean you can’t get some good shots,
Great shots Damian! 😀
Do you know of any hotels around PIK? Im there soon and staying over night before going back home. Any help would be appreciated.
Try here – http://www.troononline.net/acatalog/copy_of_copy_of_Ardneil_Hotel.html
Right next to the train station in Troon and about 3-4 mins on the train to/from PIK,
Beautiful…………..and I don’t mean the planes, shame that man was there eh!:D
Brings back good memories of my September trip. When were these taken? I’m sure its a bit colder in Washington of late 😉
Early May in the late afternoon IIRC,
some very interseting shots there DJ the second last and the last one stand out for me
WELL DONE
Rab 5869 ( Darkside Aviation )
Thanks Rab, the last one of course is Dover Air Force Base,
Certainly some great viewing/photography spots down there Scotty,
3rd and 4th EK shots v/nice,
Great contrial pics there mate, mind if i ask what lens was used?
Love the EK 777 aswell… 😀
Canon 100-400 James,
Photo of the week is actually chosen by the owner, Chris Kilroy. ‘Top 2 of Yesterday’ and ‘Top 2 of Week’ are chosen by views.
HTH,
Sam
Can I throw my tuppenceworth in here? I quite surprisingly got one of my shots as “Photo Of The Week”

I didn’t think it was worthy of that title then and I still don’t now, it’s fairly interesting and from an unusual angle but not that good IMO, but it’s chosen at the time of acceptance as “Photo Of The Week” so I assumed at the time that it was one of the Head Screeners or indeed Chris Kilroy himself that screened it, and well, liked it.
(Edited to remove the link – I don’t want anyone thinking I’m fishing for “hits” 😮 )
aaaaah, gravelly point..a place i have come to know and love! good to see some more shots from DCA, i really should get myself down there again. it’s my new “local”, and an awesome airport. where did you get the awesome frontier shot from? was it in the sterile area or in the main terminal with the large windows?
All great shots, liking the busy-ness of EWR. when i went i found it very hard to get good shots from the airtrain.
Sam
The Frontier shot was from the main terminal area Sam,
All great shots…what is a Bankok Air 717 doing so far from home???
Going off lease apparently, possibly another 3 going the same way.
Great stuff, and nice to see different angles from GLA appearing.
