The Chippy shots is great…”move over big boy”. I must admit I did have to double take as it really does look like ANC with those snow capped hills. All great shots, especially the unusual angle of the RYR.

    All the best

The peaks are actually about 25 miles away and a tad under 3000′

Righto, and did they happen to mention that Manchester style, elevated viewing mound that was proposed a million years ago, last time I attended an enthusiasts meeting…?

Yes, it won’t be happening unfortunately, the reasons given were due a possible GSM hangar being built which would obstruct any view, and a possible new road across the Cart which would lead to a roundabout where the proposed ‘mound’ would be.

I see, so presumably they’ll build some sort of panelled fencing in it’s place to put the knackers on the photo opportunities again…?:p

I don’t think that’s the plan and no mention of panelled fencing was made at the enthusiasts meeting a week or so ago, but I’m sure Fred S (who has the contacts I’m sure) could find out, hopefully not though as there are numerous new angles to take advantage of now.

    Looks like a flying hotdog eh Lance… ? 😀

I wonder why the foliage has been hacked away along the Inchinnan Road there ? I thought the whole idea was that it prevented motorists from being distracted by passing aircraft, that was always the BAA company line anyhow…

    To stop nesting birds.

Maybe take a trip over on Friday and try some new spots seeing the hedge is down, the first 3 from Rab are certainly new angles.

Nice shots there 😎 Just wondering is that Canadian Britten-Norman Trislander on its way to Bembridge?

    James

Yes nice shots, and no the Trislander wasn’t heading for Bembridge, IIRC it was Guernsey.

Nice pics Woody, I was hoping to get a flight before the end of the season (my employer is footing the bill 🙂 ) but the girlies who deal with these things are dragging their heels 😡
So if Floatjockey is reading this can he advise when the flights are stopping for the winter?
I’ll dig out a few pics I took myself from a few weeks ago shortly and post them up.

Nice shots, and look how uncluttered (folliage wise) the north side was way back then.

In fact Rab, here’s a bit of info I sent to someone else –

“Set camera to ‘M’ and 100 ISO.

Attach camera to tripod or roof of car (obviously 😉

    Set camera to ‘one shot’

Set camera shutter speed to ‘bulb’

    Set lens to ‘AF’

Press shutter button half way down and frame/ focus on subject.

Now this is the important bit – re-set lens to ‘MF’, if you don’t then when
you press the button on the remote the lens will re-try to focus on the subject.

Press and hold the button down on hand held remote until you think you have the correct length of exposure then either let go, or if the shutter doesn’t
    shut, press button again.”

    RAB

Rab, get yourself one of these –

    http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=102555

Set your camera to ‘100 ISO’ (minimal grain) – ‘bulb’ – ‘one shot’ then muck about with your f-stops until you get it right, at the GCH you should have plenty of time to practice, but make sure it’s a wind free night 🙂
If you need any more info PM me, the above was a bit brief.
