A great show – didn’t know you were there until I was leaving and bumped into Mark Pilkington. Couldn’t stick around as the friend I was with had to pick up his daughter.
It seems that site design has become a slave to advice offered by people who don’t actually use these sites for the purpose they are intended. I still cannot see why the visual and access features of the old design couldn’t have been retained while the increasing flim flam claims about data security etc. couldn’t have been placed in the gubbins of what makes the site function.
The UK Airshow Review site has the option for use on mobile devices e.g. phones – if it has it why can’t this site do it. That way with a return to the old format that feature could be incorporated – I do not believe that these things are incompatible. Or are we some part of a strange competition amongst web site designers who have lost sight of the fact that it is the users of a particular forum who make it function according to its purpose.
I would like to see the return of the option to mark all threads read. That way I can exclude posts in threads I’m not following.
We can only hope.
Header has stopped expanding and contracting.
Page size on screen is good, no more narrow strip down the centre.
Checking to see if I can add an image from my computer.
A great historian of the RAF.
Well that’s a start, the page now fills my screen.
It’s getting closer to what one expects of forums.
Well that wouldn’t be surprising would it now?
?
I like the second one with the Heinkels flying up the Thames and a barrage balloon keeping perfect formation with them. ?
Well I joined UKAR simply because Blu_2’s Meteor restoration had gone there. It’s a pity that one of the most informative and downright interesting projects about moved because the changes here were the cause. I will still visit this forum but the overall layout, the style and the incomprehensible need for changes in the first place seem to have been an act of self-immolation by Key Publishing.
See you over there Blu_2
That looks like a 3 Jaffa Cake job Blu_2 – may your rivet holes align perfectly ?
Thanks Blu-2 – good mini update.
Excellent stuff Blu_2 – you and Eloise are doing a fine job.
Thanks Blu_2 – another fine update from the Operation Jaffa Cake team. ?
