I remember seeing that pic for the first time way back in the 60s. It is a very impressive shot with the Me410 turning away after a firing pass. That hole in the B17’s wing looks like it came from below.

Actually a good thing they didn’t – otherwise the Germans might not have gone ahead with invading Russia and declaring war on the US. The two great dopey acts that bought the *******s undone. As for religion flying one into walls, dunno if it is true or not, but I see that some religions use it as a means of explosive crowd control 😀

If they do make a new film the big question will be “what will be the name of the dog?”

    😀

Captured and photographed with orthochrome film, that’s why the yellow ring on the roundel is black, and the blue portion is lighter than the red centre dot.

Aside from those two I would suggest a flying boat.

I see a chap at Sywell a couple of months ago, dressed as a LAC, all of 65 years old and hadnt had a wash for almost as long, well judging by the smell when we passed him!

Umm ….. maybe he was the real thing and hadn’t changed his uniform for a while.

However speaking of reenactors, we do have a fairly thriving interest in it in Australia, but it is relatively small. The thing that makes me laugh are the American ACW reenactors who mostly are about 3 times the size in all directions of the real soldiers of the period.

A half dozen or so were built and done up as “fighters” prewar for propaganda shots. That’s all, it was actually better in many repects to the 109 at the time but Heinkel wasn’t flavour of the month with the RLM.

Interesting use of blurry pics, especially by those normally efficient Germans.

After one sees all the aircraft of the Napkinwaffe one really is at a loss as to why they lost.

Oh I know – they were great at producing single prototypes but it was actually the idea of factories to produce them in that completely eluded the Nazis, that and the fact that they always produced blurry unreadable blueprints. 😀

That’s taken ugly to a whole new level – looks like it though.

    A flypast of pigeons?!! 🙂

Great stuff. Cheaper than the BBMF, I suppose. Don’t tell the MOD. It might give them ideas.

Beat me to it, but one must admit that the BBMF doesn’t actually bomb the audience.

    😀

I remember way back during Confrontation a RAF Vulcan paid a visit to Melbourne. I stood in awe in my front garden as it flew overhead accompanied by a RAAF Neptune which seemed to be going flat out just to keep up.

Oh yes I forgot them – I suspect that fire rate would have been slow
