😀
Does anyone know if it’s possible to identify the original purchaser of a sword from its serial number?
I’ve two, one by Hawkes and one by Wilkinson. Neither company exists in the form it was when the swords were made so I’m not sure that they will still have any ledgers that would have been kept at the time of manufacture. I don’t think GDPR will be an issue because of the age of the swords.
Well apparently it is now owned by Edgewell Personal Care https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgewell_Personal_Care .
My suggestion would be to contact them directly because given the historical significance of Wilkinson I would assume that they have retained the appropriate records in some form, either hard copy or digitized.
Thanks for posting the film clip.
More good work Blu_2 and some interesting work on the electrics also. That hidden corrosion is a real b*****d isn’t it, especially after all the good work on the lower section.
Oh goody – another one to follow. That’s a neat start you’ve got there.
Thanks John – that was fantastic.
More excellent work Blu_2.
Now that’s a nice piece of work and it’s only Friday here.
Nice bit of metal work there. And a second update in as many days, my cup overfloweth.
That’s a good day’s work Blu_2. Although that internal corrosion was an unpleasant surprise it’s a good thing you found it. She’s getting better each time you post.
Thanks Blu_2 – I’d guess that they are some form of lead alloy. Pure lead oxidises like mad and as it does the oxidised surface layer expands which makes putting it in a confined space problematic. Another question if I may. What is the interior colour or finish on the rear fuselage.
That’s good news about the extra publicity, and that rudder section seems to be coming up a treat. What’s the condition of the lead counterweights – have they any oxidisation?
Despite it being a shock to find it is good news that you have identified both active corrosion and a potential source for more and will take steps to fix it. Good work Blue_2.
Alright you are forgiven for being a day late. Good job on the compass, that golden look was a trifle OTT. 😉
About time too !!!!!! 😉 Now the week can begin on a high note.
Excellent stuff and good to see the effect of the red painted bulbs.
