All credit to the CAA and NATS for being so open, and to the professionalism of all GA pilots in making the system work as well as it has done.
As Propstrike has said. Hope we can continue to see similar updates.
Superb…..
I have to be the first. Will it be at L……. :diablo:
Very sad news. Thoughts are with the pilot, and his family.
Beautiful Rob, just beautiful!
OK here’s something for the DH experts. If you want a folding wing Tiger (DH82a version) how do you do that? Criteria – Must be able to be unfolded/folded by one person in a max of Two minutes.
Folding wing Tiger Moth – no problem……
Unfolding I must admit, does take a little longer!
Was being used last week at Turweston for the annual LAA Test Pilots’ course for both handling assessment and because the bubble nose gives very limited orientation at high angles of attack.
Was talking to one of the lucky course members last weekend, said it was a lot of fun!
Almost certainly a “hun” in the sun? :diablo:
A true gentleman and a wonderful commentator and racconteur.
I am however surprised he lived to such a ripe age. The late, great Neil Williams was allegedly after his blood after John’s commentary on Neil’s crash at Biggin Hill in a Stampe… “He’s taken it behind the hangars….. …and left it there!”
He’ll be sadly missed.

Very sad news. Thoughts as ever are with those left behind.

Very sad news that he has lost his year-long battle with the big C.
I fear most of us who only knew him via the TV saw just a fraction of his true abilities as a pilot – and as a hugely respected man.
Blue Skies….
