RE: Whats been your fav 10 songs of this year so far?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-11-02 AT 10:57 AM (GMT)]Ahhh…Nat King Cole, the greatest silkiest voice that ever lived. Closely followed by Louis Armstrong of course. And Cole Porter is an inspired choice.

RE: Aviation merchandise online
There is a very good book shop near me (near West Drayton) called the Aviation Hobby Shop. I would imagine that they probably advertise in Airliner World and probably have a website.
RE: Some pics 🙂
Thank god, I thought it was just me who thinks the ATR is pig ugly! (How can I get away with saying that when I have just fought for the merits of the Shed on another thread!)
RE: Boeing to scrap sonic cruiser idea!
Dazza, I agree that Boeing got a shock with the volume of orders for the A380 but I believe their major mistake was the NG versions of the 737. They should have developed a new short haul aircraft using modern technology, a mini 777 if you like. What on earth they were thinking of when they adopted the 717 god only knows!
RE: Boeing to scrap sonic cruiser idea!
Agreed, they’ve got to do something quickly. Whatever it is, it shouldn’t just be another revamp of an existing type. I remember saying in another thread that I didn’t think a 60mph speed increase would be enough to make the Sonic Cruiser worth it.
RE: UK Pic of the day.
Some while ago BA were doing trials with a new form of ILS called MLS (Microwave Landing System). This system allowed a fixed ground installation to transmit vertical and horizontal guidance but the aircraft can approach on any particular track and any angle of glidepath it chooses (unlike an ILS which has 1 track and 1 true glidepath). The 757 fleet (and I believe a few other aircraft) were given distinct nose markings as a reference point so that they could be tracked by observers on the ground and the actual track and glidepath flown could be checked against the instrument selected track and GP.
I only know this because my brother used to fly BA 757’s/767’s and I asked him a few years ago!
RE: Whats been your fav 10 songs of this year so far?
I probably couldn’t even name 10 but looking at what you’ve written above I do agree with Avril Levigne, Coldplay and Oakenfield.

RE: Pic Of The Day-Yep, thats Russian!
Most aircraft seats break forward like that. It allows easier exit in the event of a crash and reduces injuries to the passengers during rapid deceleration.
