Thanks for the offer EAL king but I know for a fact that Aurigny don’t have them.
Good point! I know that 5-6 years ago Crossair did a plastic Saab that was about 7″ long (or at least that was what they told the ladies 😉 ).
Sacrilege I know but I’m not too worried about the scale. I’d just like to be able to show the kids what I used to fly, preferably in the right colours.
If anyone knows where to get a Saab 340 model (any airline as Aurigny don’t do one but a preference for Crossair as I trained with them) could you let me know. Is there any way I could get Aurigny transfers and put them on a model?
I know what you mean, Mark. I think the Shed is fantastic because it is so good in its particular role, similar to the AN22
Very well done. That’s also one step closer to getting your hands on your own Yak 11!
No I’d expect to pay more for a public transport category aeroplane and also more for one with a fairly new engine but it still seemed slightly dear to me for a 150 rather than a 152. Admittedly there is the advantage of buying into a successfully running and established group.
Watch out everyone, Moondance is going to get sentimental! 😀
No offence but a public transport C150 group valuing itself at 30 odd grand seems quite steep.
Well I too would have thought that you could bring the toilets back upstairs without too much difficulty but apparantly they would need to go back to Toulouse and it would be an almighty job!
Peter T – ‘I do agree that TCX probably regret having bought the 753s. Overexpansion, it has killed many airlines in the past and will kill many more in the future.’ It wasn’t a mistake due to overexpansion but a mistake due to having taken the wrong type. We would have been so much better of with a pair of 767’s.
Groundschool for a type rating is much more stimulating as you know there’s a nice shiney plane waiting for you at the end of it (unless you work for Air France!!!).
The autothrottle disconnect buttons on the 757 are identical in feel and position to the go around buttons on the Saab 340. When I first started flying then 757 on line I once accidentally pressed the go around button instead of the disconnect. The thrust levers tried to come up but I just held them back and pressed the disconnect button. No great shakes, just bizarre how it can be left unchecked long enough to turn it into an accident.
I don’t think Iron Maiden are as full on as they used to be in previous years but I think Astraeus are somehat flexible with him. I believe he prerecords his weekly show for Radio 2 so it doesn’t interfere with his roster.
The usual exceedingly high standard. Great stuff.
I don’t know for sure but I wouldn’t be surprised if underneath the smiles the TCX management seriously regret buying the 753.
I also spoke to a MYT mate today who said that they want to get rid of their 330’s but can’t because they have the underground toilets. They say this was a huge mistake.
