It looks to be another great day. Alas I’m not going to be able to make it as I’ve got no car and no officers trousers. Darn it!
It would have been nice to get out and see Mr. Hammond put on a display or three. Hopefully I’ll get up to Hardwick later in the year with Mr. Langton.
You’re now our resident Spot spitter for the Midlands. 😉
Here’s to all the brave men and women who endured this long and bloody war. Ordinary people in an extraordinary situation. God be with them.
Aha! Dramatic license!
I was listening in on the radio for what was “up next” and swear I heard one of the presenters saying how the Lancaster played a key role in the Battle of Britain. I hope I was wrong and it was the hayfever tablets making me hear things. He probably meant a key role in the BBMF.
I watched the two day event from my back garden and was impressed. There’s one question I have for the people that actually attended the show:
What were the pyrotechnics for that went off just before Sally B displayed?
Looks quite nice, are you sure it’s Leicestershire??????
I know what you mean. It looks like one of those african sunsets you get.

Nice pics. A great day for it too. Were there any flying displays at DX over that weekend?
Nothing to do with the age of the a/c. Not a helpful comment
I stand corrected. My apologies.
B*gger! 🙁
Just heard Lanc u/s on landing
I’m really embarrassed to ask, but what is u/s?
Oh dear! That’s not good. Poor girl is getting old.
11:20am. Sally B circled and landed.
9:49am. BBMF roared overhead! My sausage sandwich paid the price and now the bin is enjoying it. Got photos of the Hurricane as it circled just north of my house before landing.
10:12am. Raspy radial. Trainer yellow monoplane. Gotta be a Texan/Harvard.
9:49am. Circled my house and landed at Biggin. Posting photos of the Hurricane(albeit small ones) on the Biggin thread.

Dammit! I must have missed that too. If we will them, they will come!
