14:34pm. Two Typhoons just flew by. My cat is still outside though. Couldn’t have had the afterburners on. 😀
flew past my study window
I wish I had a study. 🙂
The DC-6 must have landed from the northern end of the runway.
Just had a DC-3 bumble around. I was hanging out of my bedroom window when I suddenly realized from the sound that it was flying in from behind my house. I decided to leg it into my garden… I was a little too slow and got only a snatched shot.
The website says that as well as MH434 and theAtlantic planes, we can expect:
Flying
Consolidated Catalina
Fiesler Storch
Sally B
BBMF Spit, Hurricane and Lanc (although I’ve heard the Lanc may be a maybe!)
Royal Netherlands Air Force Spitfire
Static
DC-3 (Aces High)
Harvard(s)
Grasshopper
There’s probably more on the website to the trained eye.
A DC-3 just took off from Biggin. Perhaps it’s going to rendezvous with the DC-6.
MH434 & a Gnat did 2 very low passes over the airfield. 😀
Cheers for the info, Dave.
11:31am. A Spit and a Gnat just bombed over my house in formation!
11:38am. Whiny-dronny stunt team buzzing about.
12:10pm. DC-3 flew over the field about a mile from my house.
13:38pm. RN Black Cats Lynx (two of them).
14:34pm. Two Typhoons.
14:40pm. Stunt team.
11:04am. All quiet so far. Anyone else heard or seen anything?
I’ve just talked to my mum, who went there last year. She spent 4 days there and came back with change from £200.
It’s a beautiful town. Very historical with some superb architecture. There are some nice bars and restaurants that were very reasonably priced. The hotel they stayed at was nice too. She mentioned that there wasn’t much to buy for the tourist but what was there, again, was pretty cheap.
They also flew by EasyJet which was pretty good too. This may seem like a silly question, but how are you getting there?

I must say I’m looking forward to it. I always do. Personally I don’t think it’s as good as when the USAF was still over in the UK (in abundance) as we seemed to get a fair bit of US hardware display. I remember the A-10 most vividly in about 1987 or 1988. But it’s still good to hear the familiar sound of a piston engine or the boom of a jet engine.
First arrival on Friday should be the Belgian Air Force Magister at 0930, subject to delays, with the main arrival and practice window starting at around 1130.
Splendid! I’ll have my bins and Bovril at the ready!
The first picture’s a great shot of the “B” though. “A stormy ride home”
I’ve got tomorrow (Friday) off so I’ll have the binoculars at the ready. I should really ask for a quality digital camera for Christmas.
Family Guy is excellent but I’m really into American Dad! at the moment. It’s so un-pc it’s great!
Francine: Stan, you’re so stressed. You want me to make you happy with my mouth?
Stan: Yeah, I guess so.
(Francine starts blowing raspberries in Stan’s stomach, Stan laughs)
Stan: Ah, that helps a little.
Francine: Stan, maybe you’d feel better if we met this boy. Why don’t we have him over for dinner so you can get to know him?
Stan: That’s brilliant, Francine. Now rephrase it so it sounds like my idea.
Stan: (With gun, searching the house) Osama, is that you? (Hears noise, fires gun)
Roger: Geez, Stan, what gives? Holy Toledo, you killed your son’s dog! And don’t ask me to bring him back with that E.T. finger thing because that’s a giant load of crap.
Splendid!

Based on a true story,MMMMM,Zeppelin running,i remember that in the biographies i’ve read,
I believe the true story it was based on is called World War 1 😉
The trouble with trailers is the film makers usually throw all the juicy bit into the 2 minutes of running time. This gets the masses drooling and buying tickets. Then you get 88 minutes of average entertainment (and love interests) and 2 minutes of action.
