The Warbird Registry may be a good start. Go here and type in Doug Arnold

    http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/search.html

I had a look once and three pages of search results came back.

The Stearman also took part in the display whilst the Auster was on static display and the 172 was used to carry the luggage…..

I wondered if the Stearman and Auster were going to be there too. I had a look on the website and didn’t see your name next to the planes so, naturally, I didn’t jump to conclusions… which is unusual for me.

I heard it was a great show.

Janie was displaying at Woodchurch along with Mr. Hammonds T-6 “Fools Rush In”. I totally agree with you that it’s nice to see these cracking examples of aircraft flying around. I managed to get up to Hardwick a few years ago for a June open day. I remember it being very hot and being totally unprepared for it. I was red as a beetroot for a week after. It was worth it though as Mr. Langton and I had a great time.

I only wish there were a few more buzzing around Biggin. Or at least a few more buzzing around when I’m there.

Excellent stuff, Septic. I really wanted to get along to the show but fate had other ideas… 🙁

Yep. It’s got to have been at least 15 years.

I remember being at school in Charles Darwin and seeing a P-51 take off while I was in German class. It seems quite ironic thinking about it now…

Great pictures. The picture of the Hunter reminds me of Topper Harley’s plane on the aircraft carrier after the climactic dog fight in Hot Shots!

Is that the one where the Spit is flying towards him from behind? He ducks as it passes over at about 8ft and then he pops up again swearing like a docker?

Just clench and take shorter steps 😉

It’s okay. I rang HMS Direct. 😉 The nurse told me to drink loads of liquids to flush the little b*gger out. Hopefully I’ll be a better tomorrow and will be able to make the trip down on Sunday.

Not as good as in previous years but not as bad as it could be, other reports I have heard this morning suggest that Sunday is the best day. I’ll still be on my way tomorrow….

I always loved (and still do) watching the planes turn up and practise the day before an airshow. I’m quite lucky to be a mile away from the Bump.

In case I don’t make it, have a great show! Ooer… it makes me sound like I’m dying… which is not the case.

..attended for the first time last year – is this the airshow circuit’s best kept secret …even though I’m local (ish) I’ll still have trouble finding it though –

I’m about 50 miles away from Woodchurch. Hopefully I’ll just follow the planes. I may have to drive through some fields though.

Help! I’ve got Delhi Belly! Can anyone recommend a cure apart from Imodium and a cork? I won’t be able to get there otherwise…

Not modern at all, most of it is 60+ years old

You’re right, it’s not that modern, Yak 11 Fan.

It’s amazing how technology got better and better from the late 19th century to modern day. Man kind had spent a few centuries travelling around by horse then train and car. Then just under 70 years after the Wright Brothers make their first flight we put a man on the moon.

I bet you’re glad you don’t have to drive there though.
