    No overpriced burgers and a car park within 2mins walk? Reasonably priced food? Aircraft displaying anything but their belly? A NATURAL SLOPE????

    Nope, it was based on a book which I recall reading in high school, about a group of kids who manage to get hold of a machine-gun from a Heinkel 111, and try to set it up in a bunker so they can “do their bit”.

    Good read, but it’s still a war story! 😉

    Haven’t seen the TV series, so can’t comment on the warbird content. Think it was probably all stock footage, though.

    I remember seeing it when I was a kid. I remember it being great. They end up shooting at the Home Guard or a regular Army unit on manoeuvres.

    The Thing did it for me.

    When I went to see The Matrix I came out wondering if I was actually “there” or not. It kinda freaked me out for a while. It was like:

    “Am I here?”
    “Of course I am!”
    “But that’s what the machines would be wanting to me to think…”

    etc. etc.

    I got a Jimmy Carr DVD, the complete first series of the A-Team on DVD, a clock that doesn’t work, some aftershave (even though I’ve got a sort of beard), a “come and ride my Jumbo Jet” novelty t-shirt, a pair of reproduction US Army officers pants from Eastman Leather and a voucher for a trial flying lesson!!!

    I’m excited but I’m also bricking myself over the flying lesson!
