Mate, it’s a damn good book

Check out the archives, cos about a year ago, I posted a thread about this topic wanting to know if anyone had the TV film based on the Lady called ‘Soul survivor’. No one has a copy which is a shame cos the film was good as well with a neat twist near the end.

When I moved out here to cyprus, I joined the local library and the very firts book I picked up was the story of the Lady.

My fantasy…apart from Jane Fonda in her Barbarella gear….sorry getting carried away there…

To be able to go to an airshow and drive straight in through the gates, without queueing, to park the car where I then dont have to walk miles to get the flight line, to have a table and chairs laid out with room to move around them right on the flight line but not in the middle (whats the point of watching em whizzing left and right when if you get a spot at the end of the runway where they take off and land from, you get more chance to enjoy and take pictures / video, to have food (not yesterdays sandwichs) and drink (some alcoholic but not served in those poxy plastic beakers) laid on, to have a clean portaloo just far enough away so I aint bothered by the wasp’s or the honk !, to have a suitable, informative but knows when to shut up so’s I can hear the planes commentator, to have the sun behind me so I dont take pictures of silhuoettes, to not have a bladdy funfair in the background,to have a clear run in the car out of the airfield and back home with no hold ups.

And as for the planes, all the current airworthy (helps dontchya know!) WW2 stuff, one or two jets but ones with style and attitude…Lightning, Vulcan, a couple of post war props and a few ‘heavies. Any of the ones mentioned in the previous post’s would do, but not too many cos I cant look everywhere at the same time.

Oh, and most importantly, no accidents

Nice piccies. I’ve got the same write up but without those shots.

On a slightly different subject but still dealing with Libs and India…if you dont mind…there was a brief mention in Pilot magazine about five or six years ago from a first officer on a commercial flight that spotted what appeared to be a Lib flying below them on a different heading but in India…any of you guys ever hear any more on that story ?

Didnt think there where any more Libs flying apart from Diamond Lil and the collings Foundation’s All American ?

    Top banana !

looks like I’m going to be moving back to the UK in Oct this year and as Popham is only around 20 miles from home, I’ll be straight up to Airbourne for my license…I know they already do part ownership on their fleet of microlights…

Looks like I’ll be getting my license to leave the ground after all !

    Thanks for the info

    And finally…

The original piccies are miles better than these poxy scans. I’m hoping for a better scanner for me b’day in a few days time. If I get one, I’ll redo th T’bolt and Cobra piccies.
