RE: SS Enterprise……………
Can you teleport anti-matter ??? I thought everything worked in reverse when dealing with anti-matter so a push actually becomes a pull (EE Doc Smith…classic Lensman series) so to send it, you’d have to pull it towards you ?
Gotta admit that the spacecraft used certainly look the bizz, but would we still be keeping the engines seperate from the living quarters when we get that far advanced in space travel. The warp field envelops the whole ship when the guy in front firewalls the loud lever so it would effect crew just as much as if they where sat ontop of the engines.
Love the Romulan ships…and I quite like the Klingon Bird of Prey, but they all look a bit flimsy to me. As for the Borg Cube, must be a b*gg*r after a night out on the town to come back and try and decide which side’s got the entrance door !!
Live long and prosper

RE: Window scratches
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-02-03 AT 04:24 PM (GMT)]Yup, ’twas a Tristar allright.
We call ’em the Trooper out here and the piccies where taken on the flight back to Cyprus last time I was in the UK.
The bottom piccie was taken just climbing out over the Solent from Brize…you can just see the Isle of Wight in the background.
Still not convinced about the upward airflow theory tho’. That wouldnt explain the scratches on the windows at the front of the fuselage or at the back (Except the loo window which is inevitably covered in a frosted pattern for some obscure reason…cant think what at the mo’)and surely the fuselage skin would get shotblasted the same way ?
Cheers
Gary
RE: Window scratches
Kabir, thanks for that.
So what you are saying is the fuselage is in effect generating lift hence the upward airflow ??…or am I totally on the wrong track ?
I would have thought that the airflow would be predominantly front to rear of the fuselage with little or no upward flow. I know that airliners and probably most other planes come to that, fly at an angle of attack of around 3 degrees, but that wouldnt explain the scratches running at almost 90 degrees to the horizontal.
Can you expand a bit more on your reply ?.
Cheers
Gary
RE: Scanner test
Hey, thanks for the info.
Was beginning to think that it takes better piccies in monochrome !. I’ll have a play over the next few days and see how it goes.
Thanks again

RE: Be Happy!!!!!!!!!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-02-03 AT 05:13 PM (GMT)]Yup…’Smee allrighty.
Actually sold the boat today. Cos I teach on powerboat courses most weekends, I rarely got the chance to use it…sides which, when I’m teaching, I get given a boat and fuel and it dont cost me a cent to run !!!,and I can put the dosh towards some bits for my bike.
The skull and cross bones bandana is now getting very faded so its being pensioned off soon….its replacement is a No Fear jobby with flames down the sides !!!. Tends to unsettle our students on the powerboat courses when all the instructors arrive on Harleys and then wear identical ‘flamed’ bandana’s and start talking about monstrous sea’s and close quarter manouvering in force six gales …hey, ya got have a laff or two…then we take ’em out and show em how to do it and let them have a go !.
I lied…I love it out here.

RE: Do you build kits? Stick em up
Yup, ‘fraid so…
Allthough I havent built any since moving to Cyprus. I do have in ‘stock’ however, waiting for me in storage back in the UK, two kits by Lindberg of a Victor and also a Vulcan !. I made up one Vulcan and for a little known company in the UK, I have to say that the standard of moulding was pretty damn good.
And now for the bad news…I shot all my kits up with my trusty air rifle cos they wouldn’t have survived the trip out here.
To make amends tho’, my 11 year old son now has the modelling bug and has so far got a Black Widow, Chinook, SU27 and a Typhoon in various stages of build / bodge / covered in glue’y’ fingerprints !.
I have no doubt I will be called in to rescue the wrecks…cant wait !
