RE: That ship in the Channel has been hit again!
Having looked at and tried to understand the maritime navigation charts for CI’s, beats me how anybody ever gets through without converting to a ‘land yacht’.
It’s one of those things that is helped imesuably if you where brought up on the Islands and have the gift of local knowledge.
However, when I make my millions courtesy of the Lottery and have taken delivery of my Sunseeker Predator 95, I have every intention of spending a long time around the CI’s (wouldn’t mind living there, its a beautifull place) until it gets cold then I’ll motor down to the Med for the rest of the year.
Cheers

RE: Gonna miss the duxford get-together
Its not as accurate as my flight sim !
It looks like a door panel under youngster but I thought the doors where on the Port side only on Hurri’s (or is it just an ill fitting panel ?)

Most people have gnomes and goblins (a gnome that eating !)in their rockeries. More power to your rocks (is this termed as ‘getting your rocks off’ ? obviously a nautical term !…or should that be ‘oy, get off my rocks !)
What with the tidal range and conditions you guys have (what is it, 40 feet at Jersey) not to mention the reef’s, I am surprised that more dont flounder and get converted from ships to boats around you.
cheers

Ashley
Hey, thanks for that.
I’d hoped to be able to get back to the UK for this but what with one thing and another and a severe lack of available seats on flights…it aint gonna happen this time.
Dammit
However, I intend getting to Legends this year (first time) all I have to do to keep the cost down is to arrange to get on a course or something like attending an IT exhibition around the time its on, that way I get my flights for free.
I’ll be thinking of you lot.

RE: What are your new year’s resolutions?
Grow my hair long.
Finish my Diver training.
Complete my Advanced Powerboat Instructor Rating.
Customise my new Harley.
As I only smoke the very occassional cigar, I aint fussed about that. I drink two bottles of C*rlsb*rg a day and I aint fussed about that.
so that just leaves the nookie side of things and as I’m a happily married sort of bloke, there’s no worries about that either !!.
actually, like I dont beleive in the tooth fairy (costs a small fortune when you’ve got two young kids in the household), I dont bother with resolutions. Hey , If you are happy, why change !!!
Cheers

Sorry Russell, havent been yet, and I must admit, my scanner doesnt come out of the box over here and I havent used my 600mm telephoto lens for the past couple of years.
I’m currently nurturing a few contacts to see if I can get in and get a close look at the two Shak’s parked up decomposing at Paphos. Its only a half hour drive from here but a very definate no picture policy is in place.
All I gotta do now is arrange to get back on a course or summat at the time Legends is on now, that way I dont have to pay for flights.

RE: C*rlsb*rg drinkers only
Eric
Twice the C*rlsb*rg for half the price ?
S’easy mate, move to Cyprus. I currently pay CY£5.70 for a 12 bottle crate (same for Keo) or a little bit less for the 24 bottle crates.
I found a place just down the A303 from where I live in Wiltshire that would sell Keo to me (minimum purchase two crates) and remove £48.00 for the pleasure. When I’m back in the UK I dont mind that cos I like the drink, but its a sobering thought that for that amount I get my usual 4 crates of beer for each month, fill the truck up with Deisel…27 cents a litre, fill up for twelve quid !!!) and still have change left over.
Why four crates each month, well it tastes infinately better than what comes out of the taps, its cold, and it’s great to sit down a chat on the Forum with a cold beer each night (two bottles if its the weekend).
cheers
