    RE: C*rlsb*rg drinkers only

    Eric

Twice the C*rlsb*rg for half the price ?

S’easy mate, move to Cyprus. I currently pay CY£5.70 for a 12 bottle crate (same for Keo) or a little bit less for the 24 bottle crates.

I found a place just down the A303 from where I live in Wiltshire that would sell Keo to me (minimum purchase two crates) and remove £48.00 for the pleasure. When I’m back in the UK I dont mind that cos I like the drink, but its a sobering thought that for that amount I get my usual 4 crates of beer for each month, fill the truck up with Deisel…27 cents a litre, fill up for twelve quid !!!) and still have change left over.

Why four crates each month, well it tastes infinately better than what comes out of the taps, its cold, and it’s great to sit down a chat on the Forum with a cold beer each night (two bottles if its the weekend).

    cheers

    RE: Chickens

    So lets see…

“Biologically speaking the egg is fertilized by the sperm creating a featus. The egg then forms around the Chicken so, to be correct the Chicken came before the egg.”

Right, that clarifies the position no end…so it all starts with some Washing Powder (biological…geddit ?) and an egg , who by the way is a Southern Redneck (has to be with a name like Featus doesnt it ?) and then you build another shell around it…blimey…whadja call it when it hatches…Houdini ?

    ?

    Cheers

    Gary

And a Happy new one to all

and I’m only on my second C*rlsb*rg as well !

RE: That ship in the Channel has been hit again!

Personally I blame the guy who painted it orange in the first place !.
I mean, if you are out at sea (some say I am) and see something bright orange, what are you going to do ?…thats right, drive over and have a look !…its a bit like moths to an electric light bulb.

If they painted it a muddy brown it’d never get hit at all !. the attached piccy is of a wreck (top marks for observation there !) just off the Akrotiri peninsula …a few clicks from my house, actually I can see it quite clearly from the bedroom window. My house is on the cliff top just in front of the bridge) and its a muddy brown colour and it hasnt been hit at all and its been here umpteen years…I think the lack of glass in the portholes gives the game away…teehee.

    cheers

RE: So, what will be the must see shows next year?

When is Legends next year (2003)?.

So far I have not been able to get to one of these shows for one reason or another and thought it about time I did.

I used to go each year to the Fighter Meet and Great Warbirds but havent been to any now for some years. I’m not interested in Farnborough or Mildenhall or such like cos I’m not that fussed about jets (except a few and they dont fly anymore !) and tend to lean towards WW2 stuff…certainly sounds better I reckon.

Must save me pennies and try and do Oshkosh one day as well.

    Cheers

    RE: Concorde Capabilities?

    Speaking of rolling a 707 ….

The sleek new Boeing jet, prototype for what would become the famous 707 series, was being flown by the project test pilot, legendary Alvin “Tex” Johnston. A request from senior management had been passed to Tex to bring the Dash 80 down for a pass over Lake Washington, where the Gold Cup hydroplane races were being held, as a number of important airline industry personnel were in attendance. At the conclusion of the test flight Tex began a descent to maneuver for the flight over the Gold Cup race course. While the Dash 80 headed toward the waiting crowd of some 250,000, Tex announced to his co-pilot, Jim Gannet, “Jim, I’m going to roll this thing over the race course.” The Dash 80 came roaring across the lake at 500 feet and as he approached the race course Tex pulled the nose up and began a graceful barrel roll. Many of the crowd hadn’t even recognized what they had just seen when Tex repositioned the airplane and came back from the opposite direction, and DID ANOTHER ROLL! Aviation buffs in the crowd were astonished but senior Boeing management was almost speechless. Many stories have circulated about what happened after the event but contrary to rumors, Tex was not fired for his “public relations” show.

    Andrew

Upside down ? no, not possible me ‘ol mate…upset a few too many G+T’s !…besides which, they’d have to make the visor droop the other way

Seriously tho’ not too sure about full inverted flight but yes, it should be possible to at do a 360 roll as long as it was kept under a 1G loading throughout the roll.

Hey, I have on video some nut (Cool actually !) rolling a 707 and also got a piccie taking from inside showing a wing with engines and the ground / runway where the sky should be !

Bob Hoover roll’s all sorts fo stuff while pouring drinks for his passengers…again, I have it on video…but I think I’d call it a day at attempting to loop Concorde!

Am I right in saying that a Lancaster was looped during the war (Allthough its Dihedral on the main wings resembled a rubber powered toy plane when it had pulled out !) and in more recentish times a Vulcan has done the same ?

I reckon every airline should do something on these lines for the long haul flights. Just think, no more DVT cos your legs would be higher than your head so they couldnt get cramped !

    I’ll shut up now.

And all because old Archeopterix couldn’t keep his pecker in his pants.

Thats probably why the dinosauars died out…nothing to do with a big meteor at all, they where all busy knocking each other up and got knocked off by irate partners !.
