    RE: Photo’s Phor Phantom Phans

Seems to be the poor old Phantoms lot nowadays, picture props. This is our resident bird at RAF Akrotiri taken last year at the family day. Likewise the paint is getting a bit faded and tatty but she’s outside getting frazzled throughout the year.

    RE: Parallel Universes

    [updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-12-02 AT 05:24 PM (GMT)]Yes, but I’m only visiting….teehee

I firmly beleive that we aint alone out here and somewhere out there is another M3 class planet with a race of sentient beings that have developed in a similar fashion to ourselves, to the extent that they have reached the same technolgical level.

Of course they could be bright pink in colour (Chickladorians to those of you who havent read any of the classic Lensmen series by E E Doc Smith).

There are more than likely countless millions of planets or celestial bodies that are both capable of and are indeed supporting life even in our own Galaxy, let alone all the billions of other Galaxies out there.

I would not be surprised to find many of those ‘races’ far more advanced than we are.

This then brings the question so eloquently put buy First Officer Spock…”Well its life Jim, but not as we know it “. Would we recognise it as life ?. Just cos we are the only known carbon based life form that we know of, doesn’t mean that other life forms have to follow the same set of rules. They could be ethereal, light based, plasma based, what we call thought based…the list is endless.

Now, if only we could get one to join this forum ?

    RE: Plane age

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-12-02 AT 07:51 PM (GMT)]1964…(thats given my age away hasn’t it ?) DeHavilland Comet G-ATN (E..not sure, my memories fading a bit here but I was only four) Flew from UK to Singapore. Lovely old girl with loose panels in the roof lining. Scared the hell out of me cos it was my first flight in a jet airliner and the noise from the auxilliary power supplies and watching the fan blades turning as I was being carried up the stairs, convinced me I was gonna be sucked into the engine !. I wasn’t !!

Incidentally, when we flew back 2 years later (in the same aircraft), I left my Teddy Bear behind on my seat. The next day I came down with what was thought to be Measles by the ‘Doc, so I was feeling pretty miserable. Later that morning there was a knock at the door and two aircrew stewerds where standing there with my Ted !!. When they’d prepped the Comet for its next flight, someone had found my Ted and after looking at the passenger listing discovered a family travelling with children on the seat where he was found and delivered him to our house !!!. Totally outstanding.

Turned out I didn’t have measles afetr all that.

    Them wus the days !

    Cheers
