RE: Whats the speed of Dark ?

So if I get this right, holding a torch while travelling at the speed of light, pointing it forward and switching it on would produce a beam of light from the torch ? So in fact the light emitted from the torch is actually going at twice the speed of light ?. Bit dangerous that…think of the recoil !!!

    cheers

RE: Mad dog in cargo hold!

Obviously he wanted to fly in either a Scottish Aviation ‘Bulldog’or the MD80 Mad Dog!

Nothing a bit of MDF and a few curtains wont cure. A few cushions wouldnt go amiss either and a picture of a log fire for the escapee to settle down in front of.

Hate to see the condition of the back door where the dog normally lives !!

    Cheers

RE: Whats the speed of Dark ?

    Hmmmm

Only reason I asked this question was, cos it goes back to an invention of mine from when I was a kid (still am really, just got a bigger body to drive round in !). See, I knew that when it gets foggy when you are driving, your headlights dont work very well cos of the scatter from backlighting, so I thought if I invented a dark headlight that shone dark instead of light, then it would make the fog go away and you could use your normal headlights to see where you wuz going !

I have to point out at this stage that at the time I was convinced it would work.

Another thing I used to think was a brill idea was having a prescription windscreen fitted to your car so’s you wouldnt have to wear glasses while driving. Bifocal of course with the bottom part of the screen for close up work so you wouldnt drive into the car infront and the top bit for distance work.

Sigh….. those where the days when things was simple !

    Cheers

RE: Whats the speed of Dark ?

Even more spooky is the fact that dark is probably faster than light !!!.

Think about it, in a dark room if you are shining a torch and you turn the torch off, it seems as though the dark is there before the light has gone away.

AND NOW TO BE TOTALLY SILLY….IF YOU WHERE TRAVELLING AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT AND TURNED A TORCH ON, WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU WHERE GOING ?

    cheers

RE: Help me catch my mouse

    Hey Kev

    Good idea

But watch out, cos if the aim is poor, we’d have a catastrophy on our hands….but if the aim is good then we’d give the mouse to the cat to eat, resulting in a Cathastrophy ?.

    Sorry…long day at work.

    cheers
