    RE: Where is she now?

    Steve

Thanks for that info. Apart from the obviously missing whirly bits ‘n’pieces and looking as though she could do with a damn good wash, she was in pretty good nick when I took the piccies. I seem to remember her being there in this condition for a number of years. Might see her fly one day !

    Cheers

    RE: Design your own aircraft.

I built two (Plastic I should add)

    1. fuselage of a Hampden with wings and engines from a Catalina grafted on top, front end of a bell Cobra instead of the hampden cockpit, set of floats from a JU52 floatplane and painted it all black and stuck it in the window of the model shop wher I was working at the time….you wont believe the amount of people who wanted to buy that kit and what was it called !

    2. Engine from a Mosquito with the fuselage of an SE5A grafted on top, utilising lower wing of SE5A, mid mountesd with Beaver undercarriage and an exposed rdial from the Beaver in front driving a two bladed prop and a Lightning pilot, again painted black.

seemed the best thing to do once I got fed up with unfinished models that where always hanging around.

    ‘Sigh’….those where the days.

    cheers

    RE: Breakfast!!!

Gotta be a Cornflake mountain !

and just occassionally, when I’ve topped up the bowl with mixed fruit and milk (full cream no less!) ….you might not want to read this bit so look away…I pour cream over the top then finish off with a liberal dosage of sugar !!!.

Stuff the calories !. If ya gotto go, ya might as well go happy !.

(and once upon a time I used to use hot milk but got fed up with mushy cereal.)

    Cheers

    RE: The Maybach!

    Too right mate.

I’ve got a soft spot for ones like that.

Here are a couple of piccies of the one that I designed and built over eleven years ago (sold it early this year and regretted it ever since !). The final ehxaust system ran along the bonnet sides, under the cockpit cutout and out over the back mudguards and ended in Brooklands Cans with fishtails and absolutely no sound deadening materiel inside….glorious bellow on full song (‘kin deafening more like, but it looked the part so I didn’t mind)

    cheers

    RE: Test your knowledge?

Could never figure these type of questions out. For instance if it takes a bloke a week to build a brick wall, how long would it take six men ?….the answers no time at all cos the first bloke’s already done it !.
