I’m guessing you have no footage of the FRADU Blue Herons Hunter team from IAT79? No-one else seems to 🙁
Lt Cdr Matt Whitfield’s mentor on the CVIX was its former display pilot Brian Grant, so I think he deserves a bit of recognition for his part in Matt’s blossoming display career 🙂
Hopefully Matt will get to fly the RNHF Sea Hawk this year also subject to serviceability.
Keep up the good work with her – it’s a crying shame only ONE cockpit section survived and I’m sure that was mainly down to the close proximity of the then owner’s home to Stock.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hawker ISS Fury F-AZXL is due to appear apparently, as is Sea Fury T.20 N20MD one would assume!
Check out http://www.dehavillandaviation.com/. Off the top of my head, displays at RNAS Yeovilton, RIAT, RNAS Culdrose, and Bournemouth are confirmed.
If anyone has any further shots of WH887…. 🙂
Almost a P-51. It was this……a Jurca M-77 Gnatsum F-PANG, which I believe is powered by a 240hp Potez engine. It sounded superb as it made a low run down the runway on its arrival.
It made a decent departure too….. 😀
Passed a couple of microlights roadrunning today on the A34.
I should be there, hoping for a few Chippies and Tiger Moths 🙂
Does anyone have any FRADU Canberra images that they wish to share? 🙂
Only reference to ejector seats……
Do ejection seats in privately owned jet aircraft have to be armed for a CofA?.
Yes they do in a JP Mk.5 and Strikemaster on a Permit to Fly.
You used to get the option in the Mk.4 and possibly Mk.3 a few years ago, but that may have changed since.
Strikemaster Mk.80A 1130 G-CDHB is based there, alongside JP Mk.5A XW355 G-JPTV and Mk.4 XR673 G-BXLO.
Thats a shame Brian is retireing, have really enjoyed some of his displays so many thanks to him and all the best.
Incidentally who will be flying Foxy lady in the future.?
Lt Cdr Matt Whitfield RN – a serving Fleet Air Arm pilot who flies the Hawks at RNAS Yeovilton and is also one of the RNHF’s Sea Hawk pilots.
Two of NL’s spares ships, stored in bits in the open; bit wrenching to see the ex-CWH F.58, Swiss AF J-4006, on the left…anyone know which Hunter the red and grey one is?
S.
XE587 suffered a mishap on its last flight when in previous ownership, so I presume was bought only as spares.
Of course, it could be made airworthy again, but with the availability of ex-Swiss F-58s it would appear unlikely.
More fots…
ZZ191 perhaps just out of the paintshop elsewhere and playing at Yeovilton on 8th March 2007….

Northern Lights’ (Now Lortie Aviation)’s lovely C-GZIC caught en-route to Exeter for work with Hunter Flying Ltd…
