The Scimitar is now somewhere in Southampton, and the Skyraider is currently not looking too good at Yeovilton.

…marks the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the prototype Hunting Jet Provost 🙂

However this important milestone seems to have been overlooked 🙁

A 50th anniversary Open Day is being held at the RAF Cranwell visitors centre on July 4th, opening at 1030 and closing at 1630.
More information will be posted when I receive it.

Further to the above…

– Admission for this event is FREE!
– It may include a flypast from a JP subject to the usuals.

Sunday 4th July, 1030-1630.

Retired and living in Devon from memory.
In the late 80s, my era the Fury guys were John Beattie/John Baker/Don Sigournay.

Ah the lovely TF956 😮

I wonder if that was Peter Shepperd at the helm during those displays?
He’s widely regarded as one of the best Sea Fury pilots by all those that saw his flights.

G-HUNT is in store in the US at Oshkosh and is for sale.
I don’t think it is flown for some time.

A rather nice Yak 11 flew into Kemble on the show day. First time I have seen one, very impressive.
