When is this Hunter gathering taking place just out of interest?
Is it a Sea Fury?
It’s a ISS Fury but it has folding wings if that makes any sense!
Isn’t the one at Cosford minus its wings?
No Yeovilton tho’ 🙁
Well if no-one else wants to, I’d like to see it mate!
This will hopefully be my first Legends this year!
Always thought the red & White Jet Prov T5’s to be a rather atractive little jet.
What are the plans for the aircraft?
I don’t think anything definite has been decided at the moment, but Popham have very kindly offered space for it for the forseeable future.
– The former ZU-WOW, now based in France and is a Hawker ISS Fury FB.11.
– RNHF Swordfish LS326
– Beech 18s 🙂
The PR.9 could make the blue note noise, I have seen video footage to prove it and boy did it sound good 🙂
Back in 1979 (before I was born) a Luftwaffe F-104G crashed at RNAS Yeovilton Air Day. From what I was told (although I am not saying this is correct) the aeroplane’s tail hit the ground coming out of a loop, before getting airborne again and crashing a couple of miles away from the airfield.
The pilot was killed 🙁
XS180 was at Halton for years, then onto St Athan in 1993.
Next stop was Lyneham in early 1996 when it was used for crash rescue training, but returned to St Athan in 2000 so I suspect Lindy Lad is correct.
Piston Provost P56 PROVOST T1 Serial No.: PAC/F/268 registered G-TMKI may be for sale. It was a while ago. It is a good solid airframe, virtually complete, and very good restoration project. I believe that the engine an propeller are with it as well.
It was purchased from the Strathallan Collection in the mid ’90’s by Tim Manna/Kennet Aviation and then sold on to the current owner.
I will try and ask one of its owners what the current situation is on the aeroplane.
Drooling yet?
Oh yeah. She’s a real sweetie!
The light undersides complement the pink superbly – I demand that it be considered for the next re-finish!
The only exception to this, arguably, was VX301 on loan to Ferranti which sported a red nose and dark blue fuselage scheme.
Sounds lovely 😉
Silver/yellow will look fantastic though if that’s what’s been chosen, although to be honest RNHF could paint it bright pink and I’d still look forward to seeing it.
Interesting to see WG655 still sporting drop tanks, I don’t think I’ve seen any other Furies wearing them. Has RNHF got any in its spare holding Lee, not necessarily serviceable?
Are these two hunters flown by FRA pilots?
James
Yes I believe they are still being flown by FRA pilots, but HHA Eng will I’m sure correct me if this is wrong.
