The Hall of Aviation jet could be made airworthy without any major hassles. It was one of two that was discovered by chance, stored in a soon-to-be-demolished hangar at Eastleigh (Southampton) Airport many years ago 🙂
The Museum is looking to move to a new location in Marchwood, and I think plans are slowly moving forward.

…but not as quick as a Sea Fury 🙂
Yep. Concorde is more then welcome here now 🙂
Incidentially Points West (local TV to Bristol) report that a crew “have been booked to ferry a Concorde home” to Filton on November 17th. The delay is down to the contracts not being signed. BAA haven’t made an announce so I wouldn’t take it as gospel yet.
Whilst we are on the subject of the Filton jet…
As G-BOAF was the last Concorde delivered to British Airways, would it be feasible for BA to re-paint it back into the scheme that it wore on its delivery flight?
It would be a nice touch.

My reaction:
😮
I went to Abingdon this year on the back of a very positive recommendation from another member of this board.
It was a super day and I’ll be there again next year.
The show also marked the first time in nearly 2 years since I’d seen XF516 fly, little did I know it would prove to be the last 🙁
There wouldn’t be an RNHF if it wasn’t for Westland and Hawker-Siddeley making donations in the form of a Swordfish and Sea Fury in the 60’s and 70’s, and the FAAM allowing WB271 to be recovered to fly again.
The West German government also gifted the 2nd Sea Fury WG655 to the Flight in 1976.

Canada for the Lysanders and the sole surviving Swordfish Mk.I left anywhere in the world.

Indeed, fingers crossed that it all goes to plan 🙂

If Duxford do get one of the grounded jets, would it be out of the question for their original Corncorde to go to Cosford?
It would fit in quite nicely with the prototypes collection in the same way a BA jet would do with the airline collection.
Just a thought.

WV908 is awaiting its safety equipment back from overhaul.
After that it just needs weighing and a full re-spray before the test runs and flights can begin.
VR930 is still awaiting the engine back from rebuild.
The rest of the aircraft is serviceable I believe so once the Centaurus comes back, it’s test running time.
LS326 of the RNHF.
Yes, TFC have a P-39Q under rebuild in the USA.
No sure when it will come over though, could be one of those “when it’s finished” cases 🙂

Still at least its safe and happy indoors.
I’m afraid that’s not the case at all, in fact it’s very depressed.
Being sat next to a egg whisk (Westland Wessex) since 1994 has left deep mental scars, poor thing.
On the other hand it does have the S.1 XN957 as its other close neighbour, so there’s some respite.
XV333 looks in good nick at the FAAM.
I think it was flown in to Yeovilton and moved straight into the Carrier exhibition. Got to feel sorry for it in some ways however, living in total darkness for the past eight years can’t have been much fun.

Aren’t Sea Furies supposed to have R-3350s?
Blasphemy 😮
