Hi Elliott,
I acquired this last year, the seller indicating that it came from a Whitley that crashed near Bexhill on Sea on the 9th of July 1940. Two parts in the assembly have numbers stamped on them, SP96112 and SP42872. Any thoughts / any use??? The white thing is a 6″ rule.
Robert.

My friends boss has a DH6 propeller hanging up on the office wall. My great grand father, Arthur Maxfield, also served in Iraq during WW1.
Never mind the Hurricane, what about the Lancaster Bomber?

I’m looking for instruments suitable for a vintage glider, especially an early COSIM
Variometer (the one with the external tubes.)
Thank you,

It’s a small claim to fame, but I cut the lightening holes in the Cooper bomb rack frame! Lovely photos, David.
The previous photograph was from http://www.roalddahl.com, and was entitled “1941 Roald Dahl rejoins his RAF squadron in Athens, Greece”

Rich, I was there and thoroughly enjoyed a friendly and relaxed event. The first time I’ve seen the Shackleton and was impressed by how it looked and sounded close up. Good luck with the return to airworthiness.

The two ladies who were working in the shop when I called in to buy an ice cream recently could not have been more helpful.
The only good thing to come out of Manchester is the M62 East bound.
It can’t be for the SNP Air Force, it’s too left wing.
That will be a huge asset to NAM, it looks a bit modern to me, but I do understand that modern building regulations mean modern buildings (Project Bus Terminal?)
Has the museum ever considered relocating an original RAF building to Winthorpe? It could be an interesting exhibit in its own right, would help preserve our heritage and could provide workshop / display space. I know it would not be cheap or straight forward (lead, asbestos, etc) just a thought.
BBC footage of the 2 together, no commentary
I think that only the display Vulcan had camoflaged under surfaces. I remember reading somewhere that this was done to make it more visible to the audience. The usual ‘Could be wrong’ disclaimer applies…..
I think you could be right, not sure of the serials?
