… and it looks like they have wisely invested in some surplus tarpaulins from Burma.
I think this is quite simple. The RAF Museum can (and did) ask for the images to be removed. The moderator can (and did) agree to do this. I am not aware of there being any “legal” aspect to this.
Have they confirmed the identity of the machine yet?
Is this the main works number, does this help confirm the identity?
The wing separation looks to have been done neatly.

Wrong shade of green.
The BBC News showed both engines on the deck this morning, still retrieving parts.
The BBC will broadcast from the vessel around 3.30PM this afternoon.
Lifting planned for 21.00 hrs today
The BBC’s Nick Higham is back on board the GPS Apollo Platform this morning. Could today be the day?

The BBC are showing a 30 minute documentary about the Dornier and the recovery operation, at odd times over the weekend, on the news channel:

I’ve just watched it and thought it was excellent. It will be available on the iPlayer. if you can access this.

The next edition of the RAF Museum’s own magazine RADAR ….other aviation related magazines are available… will have an in depth article (pun intended):
Two years ago, we found a Dornier Do-17 on the sea bed in the Goodwin Sands off the Kent coast and it kick started a major project to raise and conserve the aircraft to be a part of the Museum’s collection. On the 2nd May, we started to send divers down to build a frame around the aircraft so that in 3-4 weeks, we can use a crane to lift it from the sea bed and transport it to a specially built conservation tunnel in Cosford.
In July 2013, the second edition of the Museum’s magazine RADAR will arrive and the main cover story will be behind-the-scenes at the lift featuring images and interviews with the key people involved. You’ll hear all about the technology behind the conservation (it’s not simply lots of lemons!) as well as the engineering challenge that the frame presented to the divers who had to work in the dark to complete the work.

The BBC reporter has just interviewed the diver, whilst showing live “Helmet cam” pictures from the sea bed. Very good coverage.
This is also from the BBC, a computer simulation of the lifting operation:

This is the longer news report video:

This is a different version, with air to air footage of a Defiant:

My fingers are crossed for a successful outcome.

There’s a news article in the June edition of Aeroplane Monthly, with a photo showing the arrival of a Bloodhound missile at North Coates on the 23rd March. It came from a theme park on the Isle of Wight, the intention is to restore it for display, needs some parts..
