For one, the wings would be more like the Raptor’s than the Flanker-type conventional ones seen here, if the design CGIs were any indication.
The TU-50’s wings look alot like the YF-22’s wings IMHO.![]()
A 1000lb JDAM will fit in the lower bay.
Would it be possible to fit the YF-23’s v-tail to the F15SE and eliminate the vertical stabiliser? They would have to implement FBW but Boeing’s marketing video states that they are planning FBW.
How about selling the Israelis the RAF’s tranche 1 Typhoons? They can fit Israeli avionics to them. 🙂
First Internal Weapon launch for the F15 Silent Eagle
Boeing successfully launched a missile from the F-15 Silent Eagle’s newly designed Conformal Weapons Bay (CWB) on July 14. Demonstration aircraft F-15E1 departed from Point Mugu Naval Air Weapon Station, Calif., at 5:59 p.m Pacific time, launched an inert AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile (AMRAAM) from its left-side CWB, and returned to base at 6:52 p.m.
The first privately owned Harrier
The F-35 is optimized for X-band and K/Ku band stealth. The KJ2000 AWACs should have a radar coverage of 450km well outside Meteor range. It also operates in the S-band which means the F-35 might not be stealthy.
If the J-10 have datalinks to the AWACS they can launch missiles without radar lock with mid-course guidance update from AWACs platform and terminal guidance provided by the missile’s seeker head. J-10 also has IRST. AWACS datalink and IRST can possibly negate X-band stealth.
Both sides will be operating under heavy jamming degrading datalinks and sensors. The goal of both sides would be to take out the AWACS platform first. F-22 rather than F-35 should be used for this attempt. The other side will use more aircraft(greater numbers) to provide a screen for the KJ2000.
A-320
How about an Airbus A320 tanker?
Would it make sense?
I’m not referring to Iraq and Afghanistan, so I’m not really sure why you’re fixed on them. Diplomacy is only effective, if you have the means to enforce it. Without leverage, you’re never going to be able to look after your national interests properly.
Diplomacy is also effective for an economic superpower that has large buying power and can enforce trade sanctions.
It doesn’t make sense to want to protect global national interests if a country isn’t a global economic superpower. Its better to fix the economy first. Then procure a large blue-water navy.
I think it would be more interesting if the Chinese developed their own stvol aircraft and operated those from the Varyag. Perhaps they can buy the rights of the Yak-141 from Yakovlev and make an improved and updated variant.
An improved stealthy variant with EODAS and lift fan? 😀

Very exotic aircraft. They forgot to put RAF roundels on it :).
The aircraft doesn’t have a launchbar. Are they going to use a ramp? Is there any info on the avionics/engines? I hope they’ll use a F35 style widescreen touchscreen and get rid of the HUD.
Yeah. The UK needs to buy this and put Meteor and some good EW kit on it and scrap the F35:diablo:. Might even pay for a 3rd ship. 🙂
Very nice looking airplane.:)
