Ferry flight to Edwards AFB with aerial refueling.
Yes! What a beauty.
Someone at Boeing loves deltas.
Nice looking stealthy wing with twin engines.
Time for the Navy to cancel the overpriced single engine
gator bird and get a proper long range strike aircraft. 😀
Ok! I’ll spring the two bucks for a lottery ticket, but some of you
guys are way too serious, so, re-post and re-lol.
Is that a picture of a RCS test range in China?
Elisra SPS-3000
How does Spectra compare with a system like Elisra SPS-3000. Please share if you have any information.
More Information
Is there any good information on Thales Spectra in English. Would be interesting to know more.
Deino,
I was comparing with the magazine’s concept picture. I think the forward fuselage has a similar flattened profile that is bad for pilot visibility but may have some stealth advantages. The MiG’s proposal is a concept only..
The J-20 looks surprisingly like a delta-canard configuration of the MiG PAK-FA proposal.

Tejas
The Tejas is a nice aircraft. Its fantastic that a delta wing only configuration is being brought into production. The only other modern delta wing configuration I can think of is Boeing’s X-32.
I kinda wish that Tejas project definition started 10 years later. If that had happened we could have seen some of the X-32’s ideas adopted. One piece delta wing, DSI, vectored thrust. Personally, I think the X-32’s wing is just beautiful. A really modern delta wing.
I’d have to give Tejas and Gripen a tie in the looks department. The Tejas has merit because it is a delta wing only design. It would have been fantastic if the Dassault Rafale had continued the tradition. The Gripen because its sleek and has a nicer wing.

The Robinson R66 might be a more interesting solution for the hot climates in the M.E.
A nice video
to get you warfighters all excited..:D
Nice. Wish it was real.
Its size looks closer to the F15 than the Gripen though.
F/A-18F arrive. Video by Australian Defence Force media.
I’d like to see the RN buy a CATOBAR aircraft and have a proper Fleet Air Arm. I think the Sea Gripen makes sense. An alternative is to buy the F-35C instead of the F-35B (STOVL).
Aussie Rhinos Inbound
ADFMedia — March 28, 2010 — The Boeing-built Super Hornets are Australias first new combat aircraft type in 25 years. They will replace RAAFs 37-year-old F-111 fleet, which will retire at the end of the year.
They have flown from Naval Air Station Lemoore in California, where Air Force air and ground crews have been conducting acceptance flights and ground tests.
Their long flight over the Pacific included stop-overs in Hawaii and New Zealand.
My 1st impression as a civilian:
Cloudy weather.
No ditch in ground behind tail fin; maybe it slid sideways?
No fire, and not burnt.
The chunk with the canards seems up-side up; not inverted.
The right side of the aircraft has more mud including the wing which could indicate a sideways slide. There’s no fire which could indicate that it was low on fuel, i.e. landing not takeoff. The vertical stabilizer is intact (aircraft did not roll).
The cockpit is unrecognizable. The cockpit section might have separated and rolled. I hope the pilot ejected.
