During the Falklands war, boith sides had Hercules…
A PR9 wouldnt need a Herc, Canberras have quite a few fuel tanks on em.
Bex

Bex

As its you thats askin Dave, Im sure we could squeeze u in LoL :diablo:
Lookin good Pete and thanks for the other piccies.
Bex
Hey Bex Thanks. I will try and post some pics later today. sorry about hjacking your thread though:eek:
Thanks Peter, look forwards to em. As for the Hijacking, as its you, dont worry about it, personally I think the Modelling section should be renamed to “Bex John & Peters Modelling Area” LoL as we seem to be the regulars out here.
Bex
Ah thats better, she looks normal again. Well done Peter, didnt look an easy job. As for decals, dont go there, Ive got a 1/72 Cranberry (no surprise LoL) and the decals under the wings look total pants, so Im going to have to paint around the serial to hide the “yellow”. Once its not so embarrassing I will post her.
Now then, your Frightnings look rather nice too, and any chance a shot or two of those Lancs you got hiding in the background?
Bex
Just discovered that there are two Canberras at Mesa Falcon Airport in Arizona. They are N76764, ex WK142 and N76765, ex WJ614 belonging to the Jet Aviation Historical Society. Having forgotten that the Royal Navy operated Canberras, presumably not ship-borne (!), what was their role and why are they now in the US?
They were FRADU TT18’s, no they werent shipbourne, as for heading stateside, theyre now privately owned. As to their present status, I have no idea, maybe LesB can fill any gaps. Theres also a couple of other Cranberrys over there doing High Altitude stuff too.
Bex
558 in formation with the Reds again and surprise surprise, more than 1 UK airworthy Canberra.
Bex
Happy Birthday Bruce, hope its a good one.
All the best
Bex
Because, after its very lengthy birth, by the time it came into service it was a historic aircraft! :diablo:
Now thats a good answer LoL :diablo:
“Oi you in the back of that Big Bird, stop pulling stupid faces at me or Im gonna stuff my nose right down ya throat”
Bex
Radpoe,
If u do manage to locate this ear Meatbox at Sennybridge, any chance u can drop me a PM of where it is please? Ive played war many a time on those nasty areas and I might even have an old Senny army issue map knocking around and Id like to match it up on the map with places Ive been etc.
TIA
Bex
Thanks Dave, thats got the other half off me back LoL
Bex
I agree…hope he is ok…especially at this time we should remember ALL veterans with pride.
FUnny, I was going to write a sarcastic response to this thread, but once Id finished reading I thought better of it and Im going to say this instead:
Im glad his pages are gone, there were some rather insulting comments about people on it, but, as a Veteran I wish him well.

I think what is being said is that RW393 was the original Spit Gate Guardian that was replaced with a GRP replica. RW393 has been out and about on dosplay but has since returned to the Midlands.
The GRP replica was moved when RAF Turnhouse closed and is now at the airport. The replica is not of RW393 but is a generic reproduction.
Merlin,
Thanks for that, I said I knew naff all about Spitfires, and the other halfs insistance dont help either.
Thanks all for ya help.
Bex
Thank you
Kev,
Thank you for sharing your photos, as always they are of a very high standard. Next year, when the weather improves I will be taking my father who served in Conflicts this Memorial commenorates and I know I will see another side my dear dad.
Moggy, I wish you a safe trip to a very moving place, Ive only been once many years ago and it will be a trip I intend to make again.
