just one thing Janie & Flyingkiwi, hiroshima & nagasaki were hit with ATOMIC weapons not nuclear weapons as nuclear refers to hydrogen “bombs” and present day nuclear arsenals, however thank you Janie for asking the question in the first place as I was unaware of the original target particulars. what u need to add to ya costs Ivan is the following:
    1. Electric razor wire fence
    2. 50 Cal Machine gun nests
    3. roof top sniper
    And my fave:
    4. Trip wire activated claymores.

Er i might be in a silly mood today, maybe not perhaps, this lot will keep the thieving muppets away atleast.

Wake up and smell the coffee, it’s too bloody late, there’s no turning back, the sacrifices over the past hundred years of servicemen fighting for this country mean nothing to the present lot in power. If they had their way there would be no bloody Remembrance Day. !!! Saint Blair would not stop them not if there was any milage in it for him. .

And yes you could call me a bigot, when you have had over £3000 worth of farming equipment and stock pinched by Albanians in 4 months it tends to concentrate the mind wonderfully especially when they get free legal aid and I have to pay for a solicitor each time.

    Rant over. :diablo:

Shorts, it seems the likes of u & me have made 2 major mistakes in our lives.
    1. Being born in this country
    2. Worked hard paid tax & stamp.

Now, I lost my job of 15yrs last January thru no fault of my own (apart from being a little different from normal humans) and Im having to fight weekly so my family can survive, yet i see our eastern european “cousins” wander around my town with top notch clothes, jewlry, mobiles & cars and hurling abuse at me & partner all this coz theyve been handed it on a plate from the social. My father an ex soldier had a stroke 2 yrs ago and the armed forces didnt want to know, hence my earlier post in this thread which i orignally wrote on Rememberance day. Oh the bit about my old friend, his funeral the Legion turned up with a flag, and my dad & I were the only ones in uniform to honour his passing.

I have no idea about most of them, but the B17 is a B17C I think, and pic 7 is most likely a B17F or G and by the look of it about to redesigned by one of his mates. Bex

Pete Truman….. Thanks, I knew I was 100% about the dinky toy carriers, but Hermes I wasnt so sure about. I do beleieve at the time of the Falklands they did throw that idea of refitting the Hermes to a proper carrier but time & money stuffed that one. Also some muppet was reported running around the country looking for old AEW3 Gannets for the job, until someone pointed out that his plan was good in theory but just one slight technical hitch, we didnt have a proper aircraft carrier for them to take off & Land on. I think u just about banged the nail on the head Cypherus, i think its down to society and the fact that too many happy clapper do gooders have decided the dregs of society are allowed to have the same rights as normal human beings. Bring back National Service, give the MOD its old Crown exemptions back and keep the press out, and if the odd toe rag gets a beasting then…………..oh well never mind ah diddums. Bex

if i remember correctly (i look forward to corrections if im wrong) Invincible & Hermes and the other carriers of their type werent actually meant to be aircraft carriers in the normal sense, they were meant to be only carrying helicopters and that clever bloke with the beard (ok that covers most of the RN) proved just before the Falklands that it was possible to land a Harrier on the deck and then the rest is history. I was only 6 at the time so the old hard drive is a bit u/s and should have been BLR’d years ago and i wasnt happy with with the demise of proper carriers doing away with Buccs & Phantoms & Gannets (ok RAF got the lot bar the Gannets) Bex
