Posting this on behalf of my internet-challenged mate, who’s looking for attitude indicator for cockpit project, “4 inch square type as fitted to Lynx, Gazelle, Sea Harrier etc”. Willing to buy or trade.

I’ve got a pic now, this is the sort of thing he’s after

And when Susannah York is introduced to the pilot who had bad burns to his face he said, very woodernly, that he had ‘had an escapade with a Hurricane’

    .

IIRC that ‘actor’ was actually in the RAF during the war (Bomber Command) and was badly burned on active duty.

Edit: Ah, I see Septic beat me to it, and with a much more informed post!!

I’ve never met anyone from Everetts or even spoken to them so ultimately you should take what I’m saying with a pinch of salt….but if you were to turn up on their doorstep asking to buy a potentially airworthy Jag or SHAR from them for 25K, I can only guess that you may be in line for a certain amount of disappointment.
Perhaps forum members would have been happier if these Sea Harriers were dismantled for spares and sold through a middleman to India, rather than being restored…because many components are actually brand new and potentially serviceable. Or given away to charity just to get that warm fuzzy feeling. Well, with all due respect, the guy selling them isn’t running a charity.

With all due respect…it’s not like the market is flooded with SHARs in such good condition!!

I was just starting to feel happy with the shots I was getting with now I finally have my 30D + 100 – 400mm…then I saw yours! That 500mm f4 is obviously a nice piece of glass…coupled with your skills I must add! Oh well, I’ve got another yardstick to aim for!

Great pics! Can I ask what lense they were shot through, and are they crops?

All safety aspects aside, and forgetting the fact that it may or may not have been dangerous…it was spectacular, and if he knew exactly what he was doing I take my hat off to him! There are very few things that shock me or leave me stunned at airshows these days. This was one of them!

I can add a bit more info on this.

459 has a nice new home, hopefully a bit less cold and windy. The SHAR for sale is 691, it was a 6 month restoration project and is probably the best and most complete example available to buy anywhere in the world! An awful lot of blood sweat and tears has gone into this aircraft, and much difficulty in sourcing all the panels and parts etc! There is another airframe, 615, which Chris can fit out to same or higher standard as 691. I think he’s gonna get the JetArt website updated soon

    This is 691

I wish I’d taken more pictures of those 2 gliders that were at Cosford. I decided to put my camera down when they started displaying, because gliders are ‘boring’. How wrong could I be?! My jaw actually dropped and I uttered expletives when the red vintage glider did a roll so close to the deck that I thought he wasn’t going to make it. In retrospect they were one of the highlights of the show – fantastic performance!!

Not quite a historic warbird, but I’ve found that ladies have a special affinity towards the Harrier. I had some of my photographs decorating a friends stall at an airshow and it was amusing to watch the guys come in and scrutinize all my various pics whereas their partners would go straight to a picture of a Harrier in the hover.
After speaking to a few female friends it appears that the Harrier, sat on a dirty great big column of thrust, with all the associated noise and tangible power, seems to stir some rather basic feelings/associations. I kid you not!

Worth having a look at Jet Art Designs shop on ebay, often got Jag stuff in (there is Jag stuff in his ebay shop now but doesn’t look like the stuff you’re after)
