Thanks mate!
IIRC it’s in the Hutton-le-Hole local history/folk museum, which is out past Pickering way onto N. Yorks Moors. Fitting perhaps, several bombers crashed in this area…indeed a Lancaster crashed in, or just outside of, Hutton-le-Hole
Thanks muchly XH668, but I’ve already seen the info on that site (It’s a really good website for anyone interested in aviation archaeology around Yorkshire).
Have a look here….loads to have a go at!
You could contact JetArt
Website is http://www.jetartdesigns.co.uk/ and contact details are on there. He certainly used to have Canberra glass nose dome (B2?). Might still be for sale.
Cheers

Pic below taken at crash site of a Blenheim Mk1f. Could this be part of the seat from mid-upper?

I bought a copy of a magazine special called ‘The ultimate guide to Digital Photography’ for someone, it’s something to do with Computer Shopper magazine.
It’s actually an excellent concise guide to all aspects of digital photography and I’d thoroughly reccomend it, can’t go wrong for about £8 . I got it from Borders.
Presumably it could never be made serviceable again?! Be good to see it bolted on the back of a JG71 F4!!
In all seriousness, I’ve seen it up close and personal, and it’s s*dding huge!
If you haven’t already got it, I suggest you buy Wings Over Rufforth , the History of Rufforth Airfield, by Brian Mennell. There’s some recollections by chaps from 60 MU, although I’ve just had a skim read and can’t find anything about the Spitfire you mention.
The Canon 100 – 400mm is a nice piece of kit, I got mine off an ebay seller as well, Scottish bloke whose name I forget… I can dig it out if you like.
I’ve not tried the other lenses you mention, but the Canon 100-400 is better spec’d in my opinion because of the IS. At 400mm zoom (+ crop factor) you need fast shutter speed to stop camera shake, but because they only open up to f4 or f5, you’re seriously in need of some light from somewhere. Bumping up ISO helps but degrades quality….IS allows you to slow down that shutter speed and claw back some light.
However, this is all just IMHO…I’m down at the bottom of the learning curve, lol.
Try posting your question on here, although a bit more detail would really help!
Now I’m back from work I’ve done a bit of Googling and found this snippet.

Made the hairs stand up on back of my neck!
We had the Avro factory in Leeds, complete with duck pond and cows on the roof!
Also, I read somewhere that the Swiss had an aircraft factory during the war that was mounted on some kind of rolling system which enabled it to be retracted into a mountainside if an impending raid was suspected. One has to wonder what the point was…if the factory worked just as well when tucked away in said mountainside then wtf was the point!!?? Keep it in there!!
Where is this Bolton Paul place?! And is the Defiant a replica?
