We never met but we all knew you. Thanks and God bless Ray. Our thoughts are with all at OFMC.
Roge, Pete, Pete, Mike.
Just a temporary glitch. Seems OK now.
My thanks also to the good guys and the bad (!) and for MOF for coordinating the news and photos.
Fantastic achievement. Looking forward to the DVD!
It’s not too difficult to find the form, fill it out and send in the cheque. 3 shows a year and you’ve recovered the sub! And you get the bonus of 3 copies of Prop-Swing which is informative and well produced. Just do it! You know it makes sense.
Thanks for the reminders of a super day, Andrew. I was disappointed that it got so little coverage in the ‘Press’. The organisers did us proud.
You have not lived until you’ve been to Old Warden. Irrespective of the crowds, there is always a view. The best in the UK. All of the FP regulars will vouch for the uniqueness of OW. Flightline walks available, hangers open, approachable workforce, and improved cuisine.
Franck, these are the jewels that make this forum so priceless. Stunning pictures. Thanks. And Bernard must be a fixture now, the old French charmer has a very Gallic way with words! And a wonderful means of transport!
Shuttleworth have banned them, it’s about time DX did as well. At 0810 on Saturday there was hardly a space to be seen on the fence at the Tank-Bank, and some enclosures had fenced off acres for 2 chairs and were’nt occupied until lunchtime. This is plainly silly. I think I’ll chain my windbreak up now for the Autumn Air-Day!
Try getting hold of ‘Tail-End Charlies’ by John Nichol and Tony Rennell. Seems a very well researched book with masses of detail on the bombing campaigns of the latter years of WWII. Not an easy read but quite compulsive.
No problem.

Claim to fame (!) ground-looped Tiffie at Dunsfold and got red entry in logbook from one J Johnson!
As to the 12, finger trouble!
(I was probably the celebration on return from liberating Denmark!
‘One more hour’ was first published in 1989. The flyleaf says”In One More Hour, he completes the story of his experiences as a fighter pilot begun in the best-selling Typhoon Pilot. We trace his often hazardous progress from raw recruit, training in antiquated biplanes at Wigram, to Group Captain in command of a mobile wing of rocket-firing typhoons”,
So it would appear to confirm you view. To my shame I have it in a ‘to-do’ pile. I have read the original which was very good. My Father flew Typhoons so I am always interested in anything about ‘the Tiffie’.
Breath again guys, it seems to be back! Sunday 2040 BST
Thanks, chaps, I knew I could rely on you.
Over the last couple of years the format has settled down and presentationally is fine. We journey up from the West 2 or 3 times each season, mainly for the Military shows. I can sit and watch, taking in the sound and the smell. There really is nothing like it. The only downside is that the commentary has fallen off since John Blake, surely the ‘voice of Shuttleworth’, retired. Sorry, Andy, I can’t give you a solution to that!
Ring the changes with the visitors and get the Comet back into the air! The rest is fine.
Very emotional day. I was lucky enough to get inside with a ticket from a friend who was lucky in the ‘draw’. One surprise was ‘Miss Helen’, which I think is Rob Lamplough’s P-51, which came in mid-morning. He keeps his Spitfire at Filton so probably needed to check for oil leaks or something. Rather like all the bods on the hanger roof, and on top of Marks and Spencers making sure there were no leaks!
Very sad day for Aviation worldwide.
And the Spit XIX was brilliant.
FS Sea Fury update
There’s an update posted at Flightsim.com called sfre1u.zip, which is said to improve the ground handling. (ref earlier post about taxi difficulties). It’s certainly a brilliant flier!
