The proof is there, your just to lazy to read it.
and who says it’s older? your god or did it come in a vision, even the catholic church accepts the big bang model of the universe.

LOL—- yeah baby, man’s ability to say what happened billions of years before he existed is SO exact.

If it makes you feel happy, believe as you wish.
    Happy year 5,000,000,001

Yes we do know how old this Planet is, it’s nearly 5 billion years old and that IS a Fact.

    Really — give indisputable proof.

It may be a LOT older.

Here ya go, it’s fairly basic psychology

Delusional schizophrenia (hearing voices, ie- god speaking to you):

    http://psychcentral.com/disorders/delusional-disorder-symptoms/

Cognitive dissonance (ignoring evidence such as evolution, geology, paleontology etc that conflicts with your beliefs):

    http://psychology.about.com/od/cognitivepsychology/f/dissonance.htm

Confirmation bias (interpreting things so they agree with your beliefs etc):

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/articles/c/confirmation_bias.htm

Pay close attention to the Cognitive Dissonance part.

What you have listed is opinion, your opinion, that these actually apply to what you do not like.

The latter one makes you using these to prove your point void.

    Confirmation bias

In psychology and cognitive science, confirmation bias is a tendency to search for or interpret information in a way that confirms one’s preconceptions, leading to statistical errors.

Confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias and represents an error of inductive inference toward confirmation of the hypothesis under study.

Confirmation bias is a phenomenon wherein decision makers have been shown to actively seek out and assign more weight to evidence that confirms their hypothesis, and ignore or underweigh evidence that could disconfirm their hypothesis.

Christianity is totally based on faith, not proof of any sort; whereas, I guess actually, theories in science are just as much faith as science.

It simply comes down the words “In the beginning”

It does not say the beginning of what but some like to ignore what the rest of the Bible indicates for time lines and put man as the center of the universe; therefore when man was created so was the planet he walks on.

The number of people who cling to that dogma is dwindling but some will always be around.

Simple fact we have no idea of how old this rock is while some Christians believe that Adam being placed on the earth was God’s final redo of putting persons here after earlier occurrences became a such a cluster-f God said wipe them out and start again, more than once.

I will have to challenge you on the use of the word ‘Dogma’ there young man ; )

I am more of an Agnostic than Aetheist and I have never read any books on the subject, but the above dictionary definition sure sounds like ‘Religion’ to me ; )

I have come across two types of people who do not especially like the word dogma applied to them: religious and non-religious.:highly_amused:

That means a huge chunk of RC Priests/Monks etc are Doomed – also of course the extremists from any of the ‘Faiths’ !
Of course presumably it is only the Priests/Monks that the Church didn’t manage to cover up for that will suffer eternal damnation or ….

Does this disturbing clause apply ?…

There will be a huge numbers of preachers abusing the Christian Faith.
God does not take kindly to street hustlers masquerading as men of faith.

As far as extremists goes, if they are preaching some man-made hoop to jump through to be saved, they may very well be in a world of hurt.
It all comes down to what is the bottom line on how one is saved from man’s ability to cut off his nose to spite his face.

If it lists something besides simply believing in who Jesus said he is and and why came, then there could very well be problems.

I would still like to know whether a non believer who leads a good life will go to heaven or hell whilst a kiddie fiddling priest who has prayed to his god several times a day goes to heaven.

I won’t be disappointed i will go 6 foot under or up in a puff of smoke but with a clear mind :).

Homosexual pedophiles do not go to heaven, nor do false preachers, which is plainly stated in the Bible.
