I really hope so and I think so but I was wrong about the Seawolf Class.

    A little off topic….

I know that Germany tried their PzH 2000 turret on a ship and had good results. Has any other countries tried mounting artillery on ships with success? I think the Denel 105mm G7 would be a perfect naval gun with longer range than most 155mm howitzers.

LOL– yeah and Nato tanks should be using the German 88, laws of physics say it has the same destructive power of 120– ROFl.

What with all the UCLASS deck landings and development work, it really makes you wonder what thought the MOD are having with regard to UAV operations of the CVFs.

The USN are initially looking at UAVs for cargo and A2A refueling whilst they are happy with their manned strike assets.

Are the MOD just concentrating on F35/Merlin operations or do we think there is any serious work on what can support them?

ROFL– two out of four failed but then for the U.S. military brass, close is good enough.

It has also lifted the greatest number of people out of poverty the world has ever seen over just a bit more than a couple of decades.

    .

The government of China has not lifted anyone out of poverty anymore than the U.S. government has.

That is a political bs cliche’ floated often by politician every where with zero proof as the populaces are too stupid to check the numbers and see they are being sold, and charged for a white elephant.

Bloomberg magazine has had many articles in the past months on how China is crapping on some citizens to promote others; protests have shown your “lifted” boat sank before it was launched.

I suppose “surrender and die” has occurred in recent history, where the losing side ends up getting wiped out of existence for racial reasons, but I digress.

If you are going to try to float that boat then no country has a legitimate reason to exist.

The Mongol hordes were a good deal more brutal than the Nordic raiders but you are trying to hide the present and future with the past.
What the Chinese government did to its own people and attempted to do in surrounding countries, with their war with N. Vietnam being the most recent example, is simple fact.

You should also consider the possibility that some of these disputes would’ve been resolved had some of the smaller countries not have been exposed to US “support”. They may not have been willing to even challenge china’s claims and may’ve gone to the discussion table years ago without the US… So if you want to cut it that way, it’s the US who are sparking this “arms race” (trolololol I kid of course. Realpolitik)

Yep, they would have ended up just like Tibet; surrender or die.

    I love it.

I wonder what the famous news man Jack Knoff would have thought of this.

Well, I guess the US Army and USMC should just scrap all of there Artillery!

That has nothing to do with naval vessels ability to delivery maximum firepower to an area repeatedly, at the same time you should contact the Marines and tell them to stop muttering, if you have a better idea.

I see them mainly working with Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), their big 155mm and huge missile load of various missile types alongside sophisticated radars will be very handy supporting the USMC.

The USMC have been muttering for years over losing the big 16″ guns of the Iowa class, the Zumwalt goes some way in giving a similar capability back.

Hmm, well how many broadsides of 16 inch shell could a battleship deliver in an hour, that is nine shell per full salvo, verses a gun that is quite honestly pathetic in comparison while the missiles would be long gone before a battleship would run out of shells.
It is a matter of matter of people who sit in air-conditioned offices determining what people who fight, die and get crippled will get.

Have any of you boys given thought to the fact that what you see is just the tip of the iceberg; the part you do not see is the hardware that makes the missile laucnher, what ever type work, that takes space and LOTS of it.

If missile in a bay, has a malfunction, that missile HAS to be able to be cleared from the bay or the pilot has just shot himself down.

Even with the F-106 where the missiles were put into the airstream for a rail launch, some pilots said they had malfunctions and did not know if the missile simply fell off of the rail or was still attached, in an aircraft where the rail is not extended clear of the aircraft the hazard grows greatly.

    Fantastic photograph!

I often wondered how much the J75 in the SuperCrusader would have boosted the performance of the Six. It had over 4,000 lbs. more thrust than the J75 the Six used.

As far as that goes, the J75 was never fully developed as Turbofans started to get development priority years before the J75 was even close to end of possibilities.

No, nobody will given them engines, radar or weapons. Fact is Taiwan should re-unite with the mainland, it is their only option, as the Chinese Dragon is controlling Asia again.

Yep that is the rhetoric floated by Argentina before they invaded the Falklands.

Your nobody is your opinion and that is all, it would only become fact if the U.S. pulled a ‘ Nam and walked away from their promises.
With Democrats running Washington that is possible and there are not enough Chinese immigrants as a voting block to influence anyone even though the ones I have spoken to, more than a few, have low opinion of the Chi-Comms and Democrats as a whole.

If Russia wanted to gain more influence, they should form a defense pact, related to weapons sales, with both Nationalist China and Vietnam, that would cause ripples in Communist China.

It is because the goblins have zero fear of the law. For racial political correctness, the law has fear of being called racist if they actually would crack down on the majority of persons committing the crimes.
Our current president was a community organizer in Chicago, and the few persons NPR actually contacted there about his performance replies were he was less than useless, yet he was still elected an Illinois U.S. Senator and then president of the U.S.

That pretty much explains why Chicago– and even worse Detroit– are the way they are. Any colored citizens who go after colored politicians who are failing them pretty much are attacked in the same manner as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thomas was/is attacked plus they also get zero TV coverage due to fear/bias in the U.S. news complex.

Sounds like they don’t really know what a 6th generation fighter is. They should start with the questions, what is the fundamental weakness of the 5th generation fighters that can’t be fixed with upgrades?

All, including or especially the Pentagon has ZERO idea what types of wars may or may not actually be fought in the next twenty years.
It could remain giants verses the inept or giant verses giant.

Trying to determine what is needed for a desert war will be totally useless if the fighting is actually in a jungle.
Search and rescue is as important for any was as being able to attack the enemy and desert search and rescue is a world apart from that in the jungle.

Any country that becomes China’s enemy will have to be ready to fight in both climates and that is expensive.
