Church of instrument makers?
Nah, church of malt and hops.
Old Marty sent many on a different path from the church of Rome but unlike the poor old Baptists and such, he knew beer and Christians was a holy marriage.
I was a well respected member of an American copier forum which in the general section(much as this) got around to Religion and I said I was a non believer. The Death threats and vitriol I received from my so called friends was something else again.
Death threats because you said you were an atheist, hmmm, if you say so, but then what words accompanied your saying you were an atheist or did you accompany it with the same type of gibberish such as this: “Just to add to your quote I wonder if old Mart had been born a few hundred years later he would have been Chancellor of Germany in 1933 he sure had the credentials for it.
RpR here is a good quote for your bumper sticker from George Lincoln Rockwell
“I like Jews. I’ll be very sorry when we’ve killed the last of them.”
Nah, a good atheist would never use such biased rhetoric now would he.
Reading through your stuff, you are just as bad as any other religion which is totally intolerant to the beliefs of others, glad that I at least don’t give a rat’s about any of it and am probably a damn sight more tolerant of various faiths than you are, end of.
The abstracts of most major religions have more similarities than differences, so what did you expect, a Barney the Purple Dinosaur dogma?
An antonym of truth is falsehood. One can tolerate a falsehood to degrees but to condone it by not challenging it is the action of a coward or a fool.
The Old Testament is full of actions where God crushes, or lets suffer the consequences of, those who defy God.
Said same text also has scenes where God shows his power and mercy by saving/awarding those who would die, even a miserable death, before bowing before a false god.
You see what you choose to see, I can live with that.
Have a nice day.
So 6,000,000 Jews wiped out serves them right then?
Sorry your friend Jesus, don’t forget he was a Jew!*
*Assuming your imaginary friend existed.
Not my call.
Yes Jesus was a Jew, what they did to him was the last item they ever did as a nation that crapped on God.
If you read the Bible, God let them suffer their just rewards for a long, long, long time, this was just the last till the end of the world as we know it.
OOOoo!!! You got one? (Thought dinosaurs apparently happened before the earth was created and only exist to prove something or other to creationists) — Unh-uuuuh, Have you never read B.C.
Oh come on! He practically called you dumb and you wish him a nice day?;o) Curse him, threaten him with the wrath of your god and watch him quake!
Just to satisfy you — He be a low down stinky pooh-pooh ishy person!!
It’s clearly apparent from your proudly ignorant ramblings that your main problem would be cognitive dissonance & confirmation bias. Both of these can be overcome by something called *knowledge* which is found hidden in things called books. hth.
Inability to comprehend scientific evidence, either through willful ignorance or just being too dumb & uneducated is not the same as “there’s no evidence”
Ones rhetoric exposes ones intellect and yours speaks volumes.
Have a nice day.
This is the crux of the matter really.
The police have a duty to protect life. Wearing seatbelts saves lives and reduces injuries. Therefore, if a police officer turns a blind eye to a driver or passenger not wearing a belt could he be accused of neglect of duty?
Sure, by not wearing a seatbelt today you may feel you’re standing up for your right to “freedom of choice”, but the injuries suffered by a car occupant not wearing a seatbelt, the emergency service resources that are involved in attending crashes, the costs of hospital treatment and post hospital recovery, the cost to your employer if you are off work long term etc etc.
It all adds up and if you happen to lose a limb or suffer a severe head injury, it could change your life for ever.Just so you can say, “I stood up for my right to not wear a belt”….
.
YOur scenarios are artificial BS politicians use to pass their god wannabe laws.
Police are required and have duty to enforce laws and that is it, no matter the laws bias.
There is nothing in any duty laws that say police are to protect and serve, that is a political gimmick.
******* children and welfare cost far, far, far more money to all than the sky-is-falling scenario you made up.
By your scenario police had better go our and start arresting women who have children they cannot aford and the sleazy men who screw them.
That would be protecting scociety.
To recap, religious people think its ridiculous to imagine that the tiniest particles were created spontaneously from a theorised quantum flux, but entirely probable that everything was created by a fully formed ‘being’ who must’ve spontaneously zapped into existence and proceeded to make everything with absolutely nowhere to experiment, practice or plan anything!
Really?
Based on what?
I know, God has been here forever!! It explains everything (apparently!!)
You made a statement that was absolute in tone so please support what you said.
There is as much proof for a creator as there is for a mysterious big bang that was an uncontrolled accident, therefore; anyone who is declaring proof for the unprovable is a suffering fools folly.
I had no idea there was any proof. Please set out the evidence for a “creator”.
No one said there was.
At least there is proof of the big bang – we can even her it – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJyJ8Xjllzk –Oh, oh yeah, hmmm, proof yah sure, as persons in my area of the U.S. are often quoted as a saying in both a positive and negative at the same time.
God may have used a big bang, possible, and then it may be people seeing what they want to see, aka, a mirage but I suppose science can now accurately measure to any time scale they choose to suit their ego.
If it IS the big bang they are hoping for, for it to be the beginning of one humungous accident totally by chance, science says it must be as there is no god for most, well I have always wondered how science, which studies the procedure necessary for a process to proceed, put all it faith into some mystical multiple random occurrences which by scientific standards even less believable than a mystical god.Of course not. Although R might smugly come back with something akin to ‘the creator has always existed’. — Well if one has to choose between a god that has always been there performing tasks with energy that has always been there – vs. – energy always being there suddenly for no reason chaotically goes boom and over time creates a myriad of functional precise systems by chance the choice is easy by simple logic not to say mathematical odds.
“
Say we live in a universe that is the result of a huge explosion, everything we can observe, every piece of matter, every atom and all energy is what remains after that explosion; that does not mean that nothing existed before the explosion. Whatever existed before the explosion: matter, energy, whatever, was destroyed by the explosion, or changed from whatever it was, to what we can observe now.
I said earlier that concept is possible for the non-biological universe as we know it.
Too many think Christians are of one mind on the basics of the question of how and why.
Some Christians think this is the one and only time God created the earth, but there are some that think this the just the last time God will redo the earth after totally wiping out previous versions, before confining the angels that fell from heaven to what ever eternity they will get.
Debates between “Christian” factions make this thread look like a good old boys society discussion.
The Bible says God created the heavens and the earth, not the earth and the heavens.
It does not say that the Creation story of life on earth happened during that beginning.
The Bible has left out, and there are quotes from scripture books in the New Testament that no longer exist, all except the abstract of what is needed for God’s purpose. Too many who claim to be Christians try to add parts that are not there.
It still amazes me that some can accept that energy has simply always existed but cannot accept that an intelligent beings have simply always existed.
Reads like a bunch of second rate scientists and third rate theologians stroking their collective egos. Neither side can argue their corner well, though I think the science crew are making a slightly better fist of it.
And that bit of worthless fence gossip really adds to the thread, BRILLIANT!
I am about as far from a theologian as it can get but as theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. So you can fill the gaps you infer is lacking?
Can you explain dinosaurs?
They lived, they died.
More men and women of appropriate learning have reached a conclusion that concurs with the big bang theory rather than one that agrees with that that comes from fictional historical representations supposedly given by gods or their earthly representatives – unless you include those religious bigwigs with a vested interest in maintaining a hold on the hearts and minds of their followers and an observance of their sacred commandments amongst those of appropriate learning. — There is not a fictional mode by which God did it, except in the minds and rhetoric of atheists who say there is. No fact in their rhetoric just hostility.
What scientific method God used is unknown but Christian scientists learn at least as much over time as atheist scientists do.Logic involved with a mythical god? Good grief…whatever next.
Always been there? You have nothing to convince us and yet we are told that this god has always been. What energy are you talking about here? I don’t expect you to provide anything that might be proven because you have none, but nevertheless something that would be understood to be tangible would be nice.
And the energy represents what, exactly?
Hmm, good grief you believe that something came from absolutely nothing.
Energy can neither be created or destroyed but you think it just suddenly exploded into existence from magic.
Ya sure you bet.
