AFAIK till Obama left his post the Fat man was not testing any thing , Only when Trump came he provoked him and then he fell for it and started testing nuke and missile , one thing lead to another. Till the last day of Obama there was no crisis on North Korea and it is not that when Trump came to the scene North developed missile and nuclear weapon , he just tried to deal with this situation different due to domestic Political compulsion

Good point. Most likely NK accelerated its public demonstration of their programmes, long-rangers & nuclear, after the below incident. Till that point, they probably wanted to keep (or would have kept) it moving without much publicity in the hope that Trump might be different from his predecessors (based on his campaign statements) and a channel for proper dialogue might open.
But the Koreans forgot that Trump was just a president and the show is actually run by behind the screen puppeteers and the reason why murican foreign policy is so consistent!

U.S. tried to kill North Korea’s Kim Jong Un
    http://www.newsweek.com/north-korea-reveals-us-terrorist-plot-overthrow-kim-jong-un-679988

“In May this year, a group of heinous terrorists who infiltrated into our country on the orders of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the U.S. and the South Korean puppet Intelligence Service with the purpose of carrying out a state-sponsored terrorism against our supreme headquarters using biological and chemical substance were caught and exposed,” KCNA wrote.

^ This is something which was not widely reported or given coverage in the media but was a serious matter. Probably from that point on, the Koreans started giving it back. Their first ICBM test in the form of Hwasong-12 came only around 14th May. So the accelerated pace of their ICBM and nuclear test was to demonstrate to the US that, they do have the the technical and material ability to hold the entire CONUS to MAD in case the hawks in the murican establishment were having any fantasies.

^^^ Wow! That Tu-22M3 is so damn 😎

Good report from Vesti. Starting 6:24 we see MiG-29SMTs, two of them are shown in the video. The SMT that is being worked upon shows that it has around 50 strikes (10 per marking) under its wings. The second SMT with it canopy covered is also having those 5-6 marking, not clear to me.

Instead/along with those limited Kalibrs from ships and subs, it would be good to use the cheaper Kh-35/U, four of which can be carried by a single MiG-29.

Another missile which need to be dusted off is the air-launched 3M-14AE which was earlier showcased with MiG-29SMT. It would be a damn good capability to have a 1,500Km+ range Kalibr under the wings.

^ anyone got larger version of this specific image?

^ Yakhont was showcased for the MiG-29s back @ MAKS1999, hope this moves forward now that Brahmos-A has started off. It would be a good capability to have. Also, if I’m not wrong, the Indian designed pylons for Brahmos looks bigger than the original Russian displayed pylon for Brahmos-A, which looked compact in comparison.

When an article from “SouthFront” brings several of our more outspoken critics of the F-35 jumping on to embrace a rumor, it is time to take a step back and regain some semblance of objectivity.
Israel has seven F-35 in country. Two of which are newly arrived. Those seven aircraft are engaged in qualifying pilots, forming an operational doctrine, and being integrated into IDF. What they are not doing is going after 50 year old missile technology when the service has F-15I and F-16I with fully trained pilots and integrated weapons specific for that mission. Posting the rumor is fine, as even dubious rumors sometimes have a grain of truth. This one does not meet the smell test one bit.

Thanks for that insight. I feel, that bird is likely to be a very secret Iron Man X project.

Is this the first case of a bird hit which was kept under warps? ….wasn’t aware that a bird hit was something to be soo embarrassed about. We in India have had a lot of bird hit cases but it gets reported almost on a live basis…maybe cultural difference?

    NK-32-02 for Tu-160M2

    https://sdelanounas.ru/i/a/w/m/aWMucGljcy5saXZlam91cm5hbC5jb20vYm1wZC8zODAyNDk4MC8yODIxNDM4LzI4MjE0Mzhfb3JpZ2luYWwuanBnP19faWQ9OTc3MDg=.jpg

The prototype model Tu-160M2 will go off the assembly line by 2019 updated by 60% in terms of technical parameters, the commander-in-chief of the Russian Air Force Viktor Bondarev said. Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov also confirmed that the aircraft will be completely new. Adviser to the First Deputy Director General of the KRET (Concern of Radioelectronic Technologies) Vladimir Mikheev said that the Tu-160M2 will use the principle of integrated modular avionics, which allows the components of on-board electronics to replace and restore each other. Also, the missile carrier will be able to lay a course without a satellite system, due to the inertial navigation system BINS-SP-1. The technology makes it possible to determine the course of an airplane by recording the data of laser gyroscopes and quartz accelerometers.

Meanwhile, Russia’s aerospace fleet will receive 16 upgraded Tu-160M with the updated engine NK-32-02. The aircraft will be equipped with modern onboard avionics, a new satellite navigation system. The onboard defense complex is modernized, which will allow carrying new types of missiles. Also, the system will allow highly accurate application of free-falling and guided missiles with a deviation of up to 20 meters.

The updated engine, according to Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov, will increase the range of Tu-160M by 1,000 kilometers. At present, the maximum length of cruise bomber flight is 13 thousand kilometers. These characteristics allow the aircraft to deliver missiles to any point of the earth, and also for a long time to be in the air, leveling the advantage of a lightning-fast global nuclear strike by the enemy. Modernization will improve the economic performance of the engine, which will affect the fuel consumption.

I wish GoI/MoD seriously have a look at these planes and buy the blueprints and source codes along with 40 planes. Then ensure, more are build locally using the latest materials and whatever else is possible during next 10 years.

But it will be difficult to get my wish fulfilled as Russia will again ask for a leg and arm .. so RIP the bautiful and powerful machine.

There is no need for India to have the crappy Tu-160s, better to go for the B-1Bs. Moreover it would be a good two arms and two legs spend on a superior product.

Oh yeah … B-1B each one for half a billion, sorry we are not oil producing country or world super power. We might take 20 years to develop one for ourselfs. Thanks

Recent acquisition that India made would make anyone mistaken India to be among the top 3 oil producers. Half a billion for a B-1Bs sounds a real steal when the C-17s which India bought cost nearly as much.

Oh so the B-1B will be too expensive? So where does that leaves us if you want to fly big? think the larger more capable Tu-160 is cheaper though..

When you sense a trolling effort, just reply once and be done with it!

So, whilst not a fully reprentative M2 by any means, it can be said to be “partial M2 prototype”, or at least part of the M2 process.

Yes, this is the start of the M2 process. So everything related to the Tu-160M2 comes here. 🙂

For example, Fazotron has tested its first Zhuk-A prototype ten years ago, in 2007

Phazotron did not test their first Zhuk-A prototype in 2007, but, in 2007, for the first time, they showcased to the public, a MiG-29/35 prototype installed with the prototype of a Zhuk-A.

AFAIK, the first Zhuk-A started its tests back in 2005.

Look.. this is really simple. If there are people posting stuff coming right out of Russian State Control media, then there is nothing stopping ppl posting CNN, NBC, Defence news etc.

And by then this thread is truly ruined. Not the thread and forum i’m looking for.

Terms like the bolded one are manufactured for propaganda meant for fools who are eager to gulp such vomits so that they can vomit it everywhere else.
FYI, there are valid terms like Official source/Official media.

Terms like state controlled media and the likes are used by the propaganda outlets against their perceived opponents or whom they do not like.
As an example…. The western propaganda outlets while describing/quoting South Koreans term their “state-controlled media” as official media/source where as for Russia and all others whom they do not like, they use the term “state-controlled media” for all official sources. But they have a good reason to continue doing that, coz they know that there are no shortage of idiots who will promote it.

    @ sepheronx

Not long after Russia showed evidence of possible US positions in Syria at ISIS held area, command post in Dier Ezor that had a L.T. General of Russia was hit with pinpoint accuracy. L.T. General died.

This sort of thing will continue as long as Russia continues to allow the drones in the air to move freely. Shooting down every drone in all size and shapes needs to be seriously considered. SAA have lost so many men due to this very good recce/intel thats available at the disposal of moderate/radical jihadis.

Or maybe ISIS is using captured vehicles, just a thought. (P.S. U.S. special forces use a different variant of the Humvee the GMV, the ones in sat pics look like the uparmored versions passed to the Iraqi forces)

I left out the manure and quoting just the relevant part. Your statement would have held if not for that last weeks accusation by Jihadi coalition against Russian military.
This is how I think the situation likely happened/developed.

1)- Russia has been mapping the areas east of Euphrates since the DEZ liberation was near or after its liberation. (We see that with the images released from the Russian MoD)

2)- Russian forces detected no fire-fights or its visual proof in the area. (Hence Russia considered that areas to be infested with radical jihadis or under their control)

3)- VKS struck east of Euphrates on areas infested by radical jihadis. (As per Russian intelligence/recce stated above)

4)- Jihadi coalition comes out accusing VKS of striking their pets position east of Euphrates last week. (Russia denied striking the SDF, but AFAIK, Russia did not deny striking east of Euphrates. This was b’coz they believed they were striking IS position based on their intl)

5)- Since the Jihadi coalition came up with official confirmation that its their position east of Euphrates, Russian military updated their info and showed us that muricans and their pets are safely entrenched inside radical jihadii infested area.

It increasingly looks like the outcome of this crisis is going to be binary, either the hawks will choose a N-war or they will swallow their pride and ego and accept the Russian proposal of a double freeze!

^ Thats exactly how the media described the Korean missiles earlier – a “projectile”. And if we take Trump’s own word after his well deserved Presidential victory – “they are not laughing anymore”.

Anyway, we might be able to settle few questions once and for all, namely – if the Korean missiles have the range to cover the entire continental US, if their reentry technology is matured enough and if they have a working thermo-nuclear warhead for their ICBMs. All courtesy of the murican hawks and their skepticism as mentioned in the above article.

The last moderate jihadi offensive against the Russian MP also saw the jihadis loose their two T-90A which was captured by the jihadis after being abandoned by the Syrian forces due to technical reasons.

One T-90A was knocked out by the SAA T-72 from the side where as the other one from the looks of it was a result of an airstrike, most probably by an ATGM from the gunships or rockets from the Su-25?

Radical jihadis (IS) have been transferring their land holding to the Jihadi coalition which was mentioned by the Russian MoD last week in response to the Jihadi coalition accusation of Russian airstrikes. Russian MoD had revealed that there was no firefights in the areas where the SDF made rapid advance in the last few weeks in DEZ province.

Russian Satellite Images Show U.S And SDF Forces Pass Thru ISIS Territories Without Fights
    Last updated Sep 24, 2017

The Russian Ministry of Defense has released aerial images which they say show US Army special forces equipment north of the town of Deir er-Zor, where ISIS militants are deployed.

US Army special units provide free passage for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) through the battle formations of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists, the ministry said in a statement.

“Without resistance from ISIS militants the SDF troops are moving along the left bank of the Euphrates river towards the town of Deir ez-Zor,” the statement reads.

“Despite the strongholds of the US armed forces being located where ISIS troops are currently deployed, there are not even signs of the organization of a battle outpost,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

This could mean that the US military staff “feel absolutely safe” in the area which is held by the terrorists, the ministry of defense stated.

All of the images were taken from September 8 to 12. The photos show several Cougar infantry mobility vehicles and Hummer armored vehicles of the US Army special forces, according to the Russian MoD data.

Radical Jihadis also transferred couple of oil fields to the Jihadi coalition. As per the SDF tweeters, they are progressing along the highway to the east. From the looks of it, their plan is to cross the channel to the southern side from the east and then dash down to the Gehwari, Omar and other oilfields spread across the southern areas.
