Interesting, I have such a D grip – does anyone have any parts I can build up the rest of the column with please? I know that there are replica bits on ebay, but it would be nice to do it properly.

Thanks for the heads-up Peter, order placed. I was out there fairly recently on aviation business and those of a certain age still have a twinkle in their eye when you mention that aeroplane.

Thank you Geoff, that is terribly sad news, although I suspected that it may be the case. Jean Michel was, in my experience a consummate gentleman. However, it is pleasing to see that the NX664 stands as a tribute to his preservation efforts.

Jean-Michel headed up the restoration team at the time I knew him. He was ex Aeronavale, flew Privateers as I recall.
