    Hi
I never realised they allowed the use of the tail swastika in France.
Odd, as I seem to remember the model kits I bought in France, all had them removed from the decal sheet.
    Cheers
    Jerry

I had a word with a man from Airfix last year about this. He said that Swastikas are omitted from all their decal sheets nowadays, as the kits are sold with the same artwork and contents all over the world, including the one country that doesn’t allow them. His answer to authenticity when building models was that there a number of decal manufacturers that still sell decals with the Swastika on them – but I wonder for how long.

I assume that the “kill” markings for allied aircraft also have the Swastikas either removed or changed.

I’m ashamed to say that my interest is diverted to the DB4. 😮

Yes, I agree with J Boyle, according to research for an article I wrote many years ago on the Cars of The Stars vehicles (for a Bond fan mag), I included details of Pierre’s Chitty, it was fitted with a V6 Zodiac engine, with an automatic gearbox – as well as an extra fan for cooling.

As already mentioned, the Cars of The Stars Motor Museum http://www.carsofthestars.com/ is a great place to visit, as is Peter’s new Bond Museum http://www.thebondmuseum.com/ which includes vehicles used in the 007 films up to Quantum of Solace.

For those that are interested, Pierre Picton (the fella in the Duxford pics above) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be stopping off in Walsall next Saturday (May 29) twixt 10am and 3pm. They are also touring in 2010: http://chittygen11.com/appearance.htm

Although I rode a bike for a number of years, unlike my brothers I could never get “into” them, to me they were a form of transport that I could afford before transferring to 4 wheels. First was a Honda SS215 (very second hand) and the second was a (brand new) Honda CB250N Super Dream and although I miss the Dream when the weather is good, I just got too wet, too cold, too often to such a degree that it had to go – my poor legs and back just couldn’t take it any moore.

The reason I bought the SS125 in the first place was because I wanted to visit Duxford and was certainly not going to pedal there, as I had done with Gaydon, Coventry etc. previously.

For the most part happy days, but just couldn’t take the British weather – and yes, I did have all the waterproofs, it’s just that with persistant rain even they gave up on occasion.

Waking up with a sore throat again, and finding that my Paypal credentials need updating within 24hrs, otherwise my account will be deleted.

I’m not sure about that last part, to be honest. Sounds like a crock to me….

Whatever you do, don’t use any links on that email – it’s a scam, a phishing excercise to get your details – use your own link to PayPal and check that way.

Sorry Paul, have checked those 3 sites but no luck, must have been one of the minor ones, which will take a lot longer to find.

Nice to know you get them up there too mate. The other favourite down here is leaving it so late to indicate that they end up telling you what they’ve just done not what they intend to do. Anyone would think there was a tax on using indicators.

It’s not a tax, it’s just that if they use them they wear out quicker.
