Someone got a bargain – £2.6m. If only that £113m lottery win had been mine, the car would have been too – I can but dream 🙂

Was’nt the distributer for the US revell F19 stealth fighter kit arrested by the FBI as they ‘claimed’ they had attained classified information on it’s design?

I remember a story from many years ago about the KGB wanting to know how Airfix obtained details of the undercarriage of one of their aircraft, which had been modelled. Although photographs had appeared of the aeroplane in the air, no pictures had been available of it on the ground. Airfix’s answer was that they had used past experience of the manufacturer (can’t remember which – MiG?) and designed what they thought appropriate – which by all accounts was pretty accurate – or so the story went.
I’ve only read one book on more than one occasion… (apart from the Very Hungry Caterpillar to my daughter and the Thomas books to my son) and that was Running Blind.
Is that the Desmond Bagley novel? (Don’t know of another, but have fallen foul of one author using an already used title before). Have a great affection for his books, as well as the 87th series by Ed McBain, the Martin Beck series by Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo, and the Modesty Blaise series by Peter O’Donnell. But by far my favourite reads are the James Bond novels by Ian Fleming – which is where my forum name comes from.

I remember that the Spitfire was MH434 with Ray Hanna at the controls.
Didn’t they also use some Harvards dressed as P47s – or was that another film?
Very sad news, I met him a few times – what a character.

I always think of him as Danny Wilde, and that quite sad theme music that seemed to go with the Persuaders.
Sad? Never thought of John Barry’s theme as sad – will have to dig it out and listen again.

Hi Steve,
Took me all my time to work out how to post these images (although I’ve done it before), not completely computer literate, although I try my best. Can’t understand why you’re only getting tiny pics, whenever I save anything (from the largest view) they re-open in the same size. If you pm me your email address, I’ll send them direct.
Last ones for now:
Obviusly, some are better than the others – I think that’s why some were tucked in rather than in the album proper, however, a few more:
