These 2 ?

Catching up on the board after 2 weeks vacation
Tragic news.
My condolences to family & friends.
You should see What they started of with ( Langley Hampden that is )
When they pulled it out of the ocean………..They have pictures of it
It was mangled, twisted & in terrble shape.
I think the only straight part was a portion of the rear fuse.
True the interior is gutted. I was told they where saving the furbishing of the interior when they will be in a position to store it inside.
As for the engines………well they could not procure them at an “affordable” price for the museum. Hence the replicas.
I guess if someone would give them 2 peggy’s they would gladly fit them to the bird.
My 2 cents only
Actually quite an impressive story
“and sold it to C.R. “Charlie” Parker of Red Deer, Alberta for $275.00.”
Not a bad price for a flying Lanc hey !
Juging by the height of the landing gear………the prop must have been huge….
Must have been a handfull on takeoff :))
Sooooooooooo,
Any pics of TFC’s G59 ?
Location, condition, history ????
Tks in advance
I remember asking in 2001….
How badly was it damaged ?
I remember that Mr. Cartillier of SOT was loking for engine parts for the Lizzy in Canada a couple of weeks prior to the accident.
Which spung a question
How much torque effect is left on take off with a contra prop ?
For sure the rotating mass effect of both props is eliminated ? Right.
There should still be a fair amount of air spinnig after the aft prop washing a side of the AC.
But still, the left ( or right ) ???? foot effort on TO is probably a hell of a lot less
Oh hell…..that is so ever nice.
How functionnal was it back then ?
That is why maybee only one engine is running
OTTAWA, a definitive must……

Ottawa is a small cozy place also, getting there is not a problem
Barracuda….
This is what they show in store

However, the opening below the wing on both side is consistent with the windows below a Barra wing root.
Does anyone has recent pics of the airframe ?
Tks
Yup….
Try Penta Aviation in BC.
He is part owner & the AC are there
http://www.penta-aviation.com/
He is not missing a lot from what I last seen.
He just had the props overhauled recently.
Hope this helps
RS700…
RS700…
I saw her 3 years ago.
I cannot say as to the condition of the wood. All of her will have to be x-rayed & ultrasounded for wood contamination, delamination or root.
VR796 had all of that done already. The only bad part was a small wing skin section which was replaced.
But you are right, RS700 is a potential flyer.
As to whom will be first……It all depends on time & ressources.
