Yes, I was wrong in my thinking. The R-27 was the missile developed for the Fulcrum (and Flanker)
Didn’t the early versions of the Fulcrum used AA-7 missiles?
I know what you mean: the images I posted were taken from a book I got when I was a young teenager; I read over and over again. When I rediscovered it a little time ago it really made me interested in researching images from the time of the early 80’s when little was known about Soviet planes.
And here it is: an image of the Project 33

Thanks for the MiG-35 images, MadRat.
Wasn’t there a single engine version of the Fulcrum planned?
Here is another one: the “Su-19”, that would turned out to be the Su-24 Fencer.
This impression is not very far off the real aircraft

Here is another artist impression: this time a MiG-31

I think the artist had to do with very little real information and based everything else in what was “typically” Soviet: hence the similarity to other MiG products.
The last illustration of a Flanker, clearly shows the general view of the prototype.
Hello
Do you have any further information about the last image being a Su-27 impression?
I too do not think that restarting the production of Tu-160 is a useful thing for Russia.
What Russia would get from more Tu-160 it could obtain in a more practical way by other means (such has modern weapons and other sistems on existing or future -more advanced airplanes)
Aircrafts need to be recovered: whether they will be displayed or not is, to me, another question.
Althought we have a lot of information on these planes, there is always something to learn from recovering them.
I believe that it will all be to finances and so, probably the F-16 will be chosen
Any indications when it will be able to be seen by the public? Only in the mid future I expect…:(
Wonderful machines:)
