Thanks for looking.
I’m glad that it wasn’t just my imagination, as I thought exactly the same thing during the display, even down to the echo of Legends 03.
Just glad it turned out ok in the end
It would be great to see some of these aircraft over here, especially the Me 109 & MS 406. I believe the 406 is based in Switzerland. Unfortunately not speaking French at all well I wasn’t able to follow the commentary yesterday. I’m sure that someone here can give more details. I have always wondered why it is that some of the European aircraft appear over here, but not others?
And finally, my favourite act of the day……

Glad you like them. Conditions weren’t great, although it did brighten up by the end of the day. Certainly a lot better than Saturday anyway!! The flying was also quite high and far away from the crowd line, especially when you’re used to some of our shows. Anyhow, here are a few more…

No, nothing from TFC made it. Neither did the Crunchies :diablo:
I went by train the year before so knew the route OK. When I got to Gare Du Lyon there were huge posters up with a revised timetable. The train times had been changed from the normal times and there appeared to only be trains running very early in the morning and then again very late in the evening. I had hoped to get the 07:41, but it wasn’t running at that time. If I remember correctly I was told there was one more train due to leave around 08:00, but despite waiting until 09:00 it didn’t arrive. It was then that I gave up!! My broken understanding of the posters & conversation with the ticket office gave me the impression that the line had been closed for repair work (‘engineering work’).
I wonder if I could ask a favour of one of our Continental friends?
2 years ago I attempted to go to the show by train (RER D) only to find when I got to Gare Du Lyon that there were engineering works with no trains running. As I can’t understand fench too well I couldn’t figure out what was going on, whether there were replacement buses, etc and ended up stuck in Paris for the day!!
Now this year I’m planning on trying again but really don’t want to end up in the same situation. I’ve therefore attempted to find out online whether there are any planned engineering works for the weekend of 14/15 May on the RER D line. Unfortunately the only sites with English versions don’t go into this much detail, and sending an email asking for this information only gets me re-directed to a different site with the same problem. I was therefore wondering if someone could have alook on the French websites and see if this information is actually available?
Sites that I’ve tried include: sncf.com, ratp.fr and parisinfo.com.
If anyone can help I’d be extremely grateful.
Many thanks
Geoff
And the last few.
Here’s to the completion of a safe 2004 calendar, and roll on 2005!!!
And a few more. Sorry for the typical Spitfire shot!!
Thanks for the bump and the kind words. I was starting to feel unloved 😀
I can sympathize with you Yak11 Fan – my battery died during the B17 display and I was more than a little upset to discover that I’d forgotten the spare 🙁
Thanks to DaveB for the photo’s of the F86 & P51’s. I thought the F86 display was undoubtably the best display that I’ve seen by this aircraft.
Here’s a couple more of mine…
And the last ones.
Hope you enjoy, at least until Damian posts some of his 🙂
and a few more….
And finally….
I hope you enjoy 🙂
Well that seemed to work, so here’s some more 🙂
