As for Tu-22M3s, i only read that someone made an official statement that Russia will not supply them to China, nor sell license after all the talks and plans.. Probably in exchange to something U.S and Japan offered them to keep these birds away from China’s mass production.

Rumors about Chinese Tu-22 purchase were started originally back in 2010 by a small Chinese blog and then somehow it did spread to larger news sites without any reporter actually checking the source for that “news”.
